sounds like your hard drive became corrupt by virus or malware, or you were very low of disk space. your probably going to have to reformat your hard drive most will say go to system repair when you reinstall windows, but I always feel a full format is the safest way, because repairing your pc will not remove the virus vs. formatting

How to reformat or reboot my comp witout any cds

You can't reformat without CD's

The most common cause for a slow PC is either a virus or malware.

Your problem is that you say you cannot download anything so you would be unable to run an online scan to check your system.

If you have access to another PC you could download F-Secure rescue disc and burn to CD then set your PC to boot from CD and run a scan before your system boots.

Details here.

How to reformat the averatec 1000 series notebook - no reformat cd was provided.

to format the HDD, just go to my computer, locate the drive you want to format, right click on it then hit format.

you can also go to disk management and then refomat it from that location. just right lick the My Computer Icon then hit manage, you will see disk management.

now if you have the Operating System CD, use it instead.

note that formating wil erase everything in the disk.

Hi

Looking on the Kingston website (trusted) I can see that the 3715 is initially configured with 512 but is upgradable to 2Gb

http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/modelsinfo.asp?id=3&SysID=27609&mfr=Averatec&model=3700+Series+3715&root=&LinkBack=&Sys=27609-Averatec-3700+Series+3715&distributor=0&submit1=Search

Ther is a large panel on the underside of the 3700 and I would expect to find the mem slots there, however they may be located as you suggested under the keyboard.

Reformatting

I assume you want to reformat it and then reinstall some sort of operating system. The esiest way to do this is to reformat it during the reinstallation of the operating system. If you are using Windows XP, it gives you the option of using FAT32 or NTFS file system to format the drive. If you are using Windows 98 or ME, you can boot to the CD and use the fdisk/format commands found on the CD.
