Wow that is the 2nd one i hacve seen today if it is just the cord that is going bad it will need to be repaired or replaced any reputable computer store should be able to get you a new one but if it is the power jack in the laptop where the cord hooks into then it is best to send it into the manufacture of the computer for repairs expecially if there is a waranty mine got sent in for the same repairs 3 weeks ago ya it costed me about 260 dollars because mine was soceted to the motherboard ok hope this is really helpful best regards mike

I reset my surge protector and the computer wont power up. i think i need a new power supply. the power cord is working fine. Please let me know where i can find a power supply for the aspire...

The Acer Aspire L100 is a desktop computer powered by a special DC adapter and power cable. The computer's motherboard incorporates a fuse designed to prevent any power surges from damaging the computer. If the fuse burns out due to a power surge or for any other reason, the computer will no longer function. You can check the motherboard fuse for damage yourself, then take it to a trained technician for replacement if needed

Shut down the Acer Aspire L100 and turn the tower around.

Press the "On/Off" button on the front of the tower. If the computer will not boot and the fan does not turn on, the fuse may be burned out.

Unplug the power cord from the rear of the tower

Turn the tower on its side and remove the Phillips-head screws connecting the back panel to the Aspire L100's cabinet.

Pull out the motherboard assembly gently from the back of the cabinet. The internal fuse is located on the motherboard behind the DC power jack, which is to the right of the monitor jack

Let me know if this helped..

My silly dog chews on everything and i mean everything and he chewed through my cord any solutions o and my computer isn't dead but its slowly dying i need help fast

    1. Ask a friend, neighbor, relative if they have a spare cord you can borrow to charge your computer.

    2. Go to a computer store (with cord) and see if they have a universal or replacement cord (most should).

    3. Go to the Acer Website (Google: Acer Laptops and accesories) and order one (rush delivery).

You should be able to purcahse one at a computer store (Radio Shack may have them, or Walmart even as that's where I purcased my Acer Aspire).

Please let me know if you need further assitance.

Acer aspire 4920g charging mechanism failed

Have you tested the adapter to see if there is any power getting to your notebook period. Use a multimeter to check for DV voltage. If you can't get your multimeter probe into the middle of the plug then I use a paper click to get in there. If your adapter is not supplying any voltage then there is a problem with it. I get a replacement adapter for my wife's Acer on eBay for about $30. Just search eBay for 4920g and you should get quite a few hits for the ac adapter or power cord.

If the adapter is providing power then the motherboard in your notebook is faulty since you've already replaced the battery. A replacement motherboard might be available from eBay. Replacing the motherboard could be complicated depending on your experience so I would leave that up to a notebook technician. An Acer certified shop may also be able to sell you a replacement motherboard.

I don't think it's the motherboard, my money is on the adapter. Test it out or have it tested.

Power jack on Acer Aspire 5610 loose - how can I replace it?

The power jack on that model is soldered to the mainboard.

Unless you're comfortable with taking the notebook apart, and good with a soldering iron, it is best to take it to a shop.

If you choose to do this yourself, the power jacks can be bought from several sources for around $10 including shipping.

Repair shops charge $100-$150 to perform this repair.
