Question about GE Profile Harmony DPGT750EC Electric Dryer

1 Answer

I just got the he harmony set today..Washer is wonderful..very quiet.

Dryer doesn't dry at the moment gets luke water what setting you have temp. set to. It doesn't seem to have any air blowing...and the amount of air that is moving through the exhaust doesn't have enough force to open the plastic louvers to the outdoors...just doesn't seem to be working properly. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem...could there be something hooked up incorrectly by installer?

The venting is brand new, installed by delivery guys from the company....has to make about a 6-10 inches to vent to the right and outside. Not a very extreme curve at all. I may just pull the thing out and remove the vent tube, and see if that fixes the problem. At least then I would know what to tell them tomorrow when I call them.

It is almost too quiet of a dryer, just makes me wonder if everything is working inside or not. Thanks

Dryer vent is restricted. Look behind dryer to make sure there is no flex duct squished, preventing air flow. Try to avoid flex duct, use as few turns in vent as possible, and keep vent as short as possible. Vent may need cleaning also. This dryer is very good, as it uses an independent variable speed blower motor to help compensate for long and or restricted vents.

    Adjustable Periscope 18" To 29".
Adjustable periscope from 18" to 29". Used to reduce space between dryer and wall from 4-1/2" to 2-1/2" for closer clearance. Beveled ends eliminate interference with floors and side walls. Sections separate and can be reversed for easier connection. May also be used for side access venting. All metal rigid construction.

hope the photo I cut and pasted works here. There are shorter ones of these, or this can be cut down shorter. I always seal the seams with foil duct tape. In my opinion you have purchased one of the best dryers on the market.

I have jst purchased this washer today, however the dryer takes ages,,,,,,their seems to be water going in when its drying, clothes come out hot, but still as damp as when i put them into dry.

Hi, this is normal for a washer dryer, water isn't actually going in, it is condensating and then being pumped away.

when you use the dryer program your are only meant to put half the washing load or less in at a time if there is too much wet washing in the machine it will take forever to dry as it cant get rid of the amount of condensation quick enough so some of it is reabsorbed into the clothes and so it goes on.

so the trick is only to put in a maximum of half the full washing load.

Hope this helps.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Taking long time to dry

An innovative dryer, the General Electric Profile Harmony DPGT750GCW(gas) / DPGT750ECW (electric) has the ability to communicate with its matching washer via the manufacturer's CleanSpeak system. More specifically, this Profile dryer is wired to the Harmony washer, allowing electronic communication between the two. If you're wondering what these two have to talk about, the answer is simple. They talk about your laundry and how to dry it.

CleanSpeak works by transferring information about a wash load to the dryer and setting it automatically so you don't have to make any. Machine-determined optimal settings for each load are selected by the information about each load size and type. Your job is simply to place the wet laundry in the dryer and press start.

That is where the problem begins, when you interrupt the drying cycle. The machine is then rest to small load dependent on when the interruption occurred. The dryer computes the duration of drying time again the wash load. Each time you load the washer, the dryer is computed to using the shorted time. Thus, we have double cycle.

you will need to override the automated settings and enter your own preferences. Doing so can be a bit complicated, as this machine has lots of intricate, detailed controls that may take some getting used to. In fact, we suspect that's why this dryer is designed to be set by the washer. Having individuals set it, with all its options, takes some patience. The good news is that once you have manually set cycles you have found to use often or like, you can enter them in the memory, allowing the machines to set them your way in the future.

Option is to unplug the machine and wait minimum of 2 minutes and plug in the machine, hit power on.
I would recommend unplugging both machines, and rest both to factory default.
good luck
