There is no response from the notebook. When I press the power on button, there is no response even with the power adaptor connected. The battery light glows but there is no other action after I press the power button. This problems sometimes automatically resolves after several months of not using the laptop! but after powering on and off after a few days the same thing happens. could you please resolve. Thanks,
My laptop will not turn on. When I plug tha adapter in the battery light comes on but stays orange. I get a faint flicker from the power panel under the hard drive spot. The hard drive doesnt turn on and neither does the fan. Not a single noise or light. What is wrong. I checked the adapter and it seems fine. I do not have a cmos battery in it. Would that make a difference or is my motherboard fried? Please help! Thanks

turn off the notebook. take a regualr desktop monitor VGA or LCD monitor and plug into the notebook (make sure to power up both the notebook with AC adapter and power cord for monitor). Turn both on and you should see video on the desktop monitor . if you do not see anything, i would hint at the fact that the notebook screen may be bad. Do you hear the hard disk drive spinning when you turn on the notebook ? if so, thats a good indication that the mainboard is still working and that the LCD screen on the notebook is not functioing . You will have to replace the LCD (notebook) screen
try removing the battery and removing the adaptor press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then let got this will power drain your system board noy turn the system on using the battery only without any adaptors to charge or power the system, try turning the system on if the system turnes on leave it turned on for a couple of hours then conenct your sysem adaptor monitor if the battery light and the battery indicator on the lower right of the screen in windows woll indicate that the system is chargin if it is then I believe everything should be fine the blue indicator is for your system if it is blue then your system is turned on and has power if it turned orange and blnking then the battery will be more likely be almost out of juice or may need charging.
The motherboard battery is just a little round battery that you can buy at almost any retailer in most pcs. The model number to the battery is usually a CR 2032. This battery does not receive any power from your power supply. Have you noticed your PC loosing time over the last few months? This is usually a good indication that the motherboard battery is dying. The lights that you refer to though should only partain to the rechargable battery of the notebook. During the past two weeks while the red light was on, was the AC adaptor plugged in to the laptop and plugged into an AC source? If your AC adaptor has been plugged in and is not charging the notebook battery then there could be one or both of the following problems: your notebook battery could be bad or your AC adaptor could be bad. Something you may or may not know is that it is not good to keep the AC adaptor plugged in all the time. This causes the notebook battery not to fully discharge after being charged. Over a long period of time, the battery will not even charge anymore. My suggestion is that if you know someone with a similar AC adaptor to yours, borrow it to see if it charges your battery. If the battery doesn't charge then you know to replace. However, I am almost certain that you problem is the battery. Sometime older laptops like the one I have has a reset button on the underside. If yours has one try removing the battery and leave it out. Then plug in the power and press and hold the reset button for 10 to 20 seconds. If no reset button is on yours then do the same process with the battery removed and power adding, but hold the power button instead.
Remove the Battery from the Notebook and disconnect the AC Adaptor. Press and hold the Power button on the Notebook for 30 seconds.
Connect the AC Adaptor to the Noteobook and to a different wall outlet then press the power button to turn ON the Notebook.
If not then insert the Battery pack in the Battery compartment of the computer then press the power button to turn it ON. Make sure that the Battery is fully or optimally charged.
If performing the above mentioned steps didn't power up the notebook nor the power indicator glows on the notebook then the issue is with the power circuit and service will be required.
In this case, contact any service technician to get the Notebook repaired and running.
Remove the battery and ac adaptor. also remove any peripherals.
Make sure that ac adaptor is working ok
Then press power button and hold that for 20 seconds to statically discharge the notebook. Then plugge that into the mains (without battery) and try to turn on. IF Notebook will not boot. Call service as mainbord needs to be replaced.
try to take out both battery and power adaptor. press and hold the power button for ten secods while both are not connected. then connect the power adapter only. try to turn it on. if it still does not turn on then most likely you have a problem with the hardware. you might need to have it checked out with an outside tech already.
Take the battery out disconnect the AC adaptor Press and hold the power button about 7 seconds. Put the battery in and connect to AC adaptor press and release the power button. If it caused by static-component lockup, issue will be resolved. If still there is no activity including no power light check the AC Adaptor if its working
sounds like you have an intermittent problem with your AC adaptor or dc input jack. Does the light on the AC adaptor light up when you plug it in? If it does then your dc input jack may be faulty. If the light on the ac adaptor does not light then replace the ac adaptor.
