Question about Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router

1 Answer

Server not found No internet connection

I am using a Dell Inspiron laptop with a Linksys usb wireless adaptor. I have the linksys software installed. I have found the ssid and created a profile. The signal is showing 100% yet I can not connect successfully. I have rebooted and removed and reinstalled the adaptor. Any suggestions?

If haven't yet check Device Manager, go to Network Adapters and look for Linksys Wireless Adapter. Check the status of the adapt
Also look for errors codes on anything. Make sure all is enabled or need to install drivers.
If all fails remove adaptor and all drivers for it, restart computer and reinstall adaptor.

Dell Latitiude D 610 unable to connect to internet

When the network-cable from your computer is connected to the Cisco LinkSys router, click START -> RUN -> 'cmd'
and press ENTER.
Enter 'ipconfig' and press ENTER.
Look for a line like:
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.20.30.40

Open Internet Explorer, and enter: http://10.20.30.40
to connect to the web-server "inside" the Linksys router.
Enter the router's password (probably still 'admin'),
and you can then configure the "wireless" settings inside the router.

Once configured, you can disconnect the network-cable,
and start using the wireless-adapter _inside_ your computer.

Could be a vista compatibility problem.
check Linksys website for updated driver and or connection manager.

check that you still have permission in firewall.

remove the software of the usb wireless adapter, reboot ,then re install.

just a couple of thoughts
