Hello. We were hoping that you can help. We have a Toshiba LCD, 40G300U3. When we turn the power on, the green power light turns on and we can hear sound coming from the speakers ... however the screen doesn't turn on anymore. Is this something that we can repair ? Thank you. Joshua & Sherry

Take a flash light into a dark room with your laptop, and shine it into the screen when it is on. If you can see the screen then more than likely your back light is out.

If you do not see an image with the flash light, then more than likely your motherboard or LCD is going bad, this needs to be tested by a computer profession to see which is going bad.

Sounds like mother board fault. Contact any service technician to confirm. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Surf the site in "MOSAIC" view. It will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience.

Toshiba 32AV502R won't turn on even though green light goes on

Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

Manual for toshiba 40g300u tv

Toshiba has the manual for the 40G300U on their support page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2805208&rpn=undefined&modelFilter=40G300U&selCategory=2797337&selFamily=2838040 . Click on the User's Guide tab if it doesn't come up. Click on the Printer Friendly Version link to download the manual.

There are a couple of other models that start 40G300U so you may want to start at the Toshiba support page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp . Click on Product Support and then use the drop down menus to select Television, LCD TV and then the model. (There is a 40G300U1 and 40G300U3.)

I hope this helps.

My toshiba 32av500u has no picture completely blak only power little lit in front . turns on green no kind of sound

I have the same problem with the black screen and no sound. Also the green light turns on and off while hitting the power button. Although if i turn it on then off multiple times it eventually turns on and works perfect... Could you do the same thing before it finally quit all together or did yours just happen over night?

Hello, I have an Toshiba REGZA 42" LCD TV, the

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will help in solving the problem.......

Audio and video quit working

are you sure that the power is on? and the cable is plugged? There are some TVs that do actually work MANUALLY, meaning, even the light is on, (notifying you that it's on) you still have to use the remote to turn it on. Hope this helps!
