Hw6515 series and GPS

Could any1 help me with some minor problem. My company is not supporting GPRS on corporate phones, however I bought my own hw6515 and put in corporate SIM card, however now I cannot activate GPS as the only way to get the Quick GPS Connection files are via GPRS. Can any1 help me, whether those file can be downloaded via Internet somewhere and than synchronized with my Ipaq as HP support desk does not know anything about this.

Re: hw6515 series and GPS

When connected with Activesync you can use your Internet connection on the PC. In the Activesync Window: Options/Rules/Pass Through - Connection: The Internet Then leave the PDA in the cradle and access the Internet on the PDA, works automatically ever after.

I needed to get my data connection with my phone company right so to download any data, then I could get the files.

You don't have to have those files, they only speed up the sattelite location process.

Hi-

Did you set/configure the GPRS settings on the phone provided by your telephone company? they usually have the correct/exact settings for various phones, what i can really suggest is to cal your phone company so that they can give you the settings for the GPRS/GPS for blackjack, since this is a new phone that will be free of charge, since you are still within warranty.

Hw6515 pda

Dear Phil,
its mean you have to update the GPRS Service.

there are 2 ways to downlaod the files, GPRS or internet
GPRS
1. click on the quick gps connetion icon, select setting.
2. select setting, then check the enable update and initial GPRS
3. click on icon and select download, it will connect to date service and download the files.

internet:
step 1 and 2 above
3. click icon select download while it on cradle.

also install the quick gps utility on pc, and add the quick qps connection into activesync list. each time you synchronize PDA the file will get updated.

For your second problem ,which is related to File Passward protections , its seems you had create these Worksheets on NTFS File system thatswhy they asked about the passward.

Regards

Gps wont start

The ipaq requires a GPRS connection to download and refresh its GPS files every 2 days. Check the GPS symbol at the bottom right corner of the screen. It has to be blue. If it is grey, the GPS files need to be refreshed. Hp recommends MapAsia and it works, though the landmarks are not correct. The roads are ok. I do not know about diginav.
