Could any1 help me with some minor problem.
My company is not supporting GPRS on corporate phones, however I bought my own hw6515 and put in corporate SIM card, however now I cannot activate GPS as the only way to get the Quick GPS Connection files are via GPRS.
Can any1 help me, whether those file can be downloaded via Internet somewhere and than synchronized with my Ipaq as HP support desk does not know anything about this.

When connected with Activesync you can use your Internet connection on the PC.
In the Activesync Window: Options/Rules/Pass Through - Connection: The Internet
Then leave the PDA in the cradle and access the Internet on the PDA, works automatically ever after.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Welcome to Fixya General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet-based wireless service used for sending and receiving data through the internet protocol. With GPRS, the transmitted data is divided into various 'packets' before it is received by the user.
To use GPRS, users require:
A mobile phone that supports GPRS
A subscription or upgrade, as relevant, to the mobile network that supports GPRS
Some users would specifically require asking their mobile network provider to activate the GPRS while other network operators allow automatic access
Knowledge of how to do data transfers on their specific model of the mobile handset as it varies depending on the models and brands.
Setting up GPRS for your phones: Usually activating GPRS on your phones are done by the service providers, and different service providers have different configurations. Additionally, the settings for GPRS vary based on the different phones and phone models. As activation is required before setting up you should know that activation process vary from one provider to other. It could be as simple as sending an SMS to a particular number or calling customer care of that particular service provider. Once the activation is taken care of, the setting of the GPRS is done based on the model of the phone. It is important to note here that the setting for GPRS is different for different phones companies and may be different even for the different models produced by these companies. Therefore, it is recommended that you rely on the information given directly from the service provider. Again activation process may be different for postpaid and prepaid customers. So just call and demand GPRS settings for lg km555by the service provider, They will send it free.
If it is Helpful then Your Rating As Four Thumbs which are given below to this solution will appreciate me Thanks
unfortunately i am led to understand that the chinese versions of these phones (infact any from china) need a chinese sim card to access internet. it should have stated this when you bought. hope this helps :)
Dear Phil, its mean you have to update the GPRS Service.
there are 2 ways to downlaod the files, GPRS or internet
1. click on the quick gps connetion icon, select setting.
2. select setting, then check the enable update and initial GPRS
3. click on icon and select download, it will connect to date service and download the files.
step 1 and 2 above
3. click icon select download while it on cradle.
also install the quick gps utility on pc, and add the quick qps
connection into activesync list. each time you synchronize PDA the file
will get updated.
For your second problem ,which is related to File Passward protections , its seems you had create these Worksheets on NTFS File system thatswhy they asked about the passward.
I am not real versed on VPN connections but the only way I was able to connect to my company's Cisco VPN using my Ipaq was with this program.
The whole thing went very easily.
You may need to use the hard reset to make the quick gps connection working. but you will lost all ur program or data, including smart nav or tom tom. if you ready want to use the hard reset, remember to download smart nav or tomtom program. or you will end out no map in your system. good luck
