In windows go to the Control Panel+ Performance Maintance+System(system properties) + Hardware+ Device Manager from the list select disk drive and select the one that you are trying to access and on the general tab make sure that the drive is enabled.
NEXT In my computer right click on the drive and properties make sure auto play is selected for music. And then also if you have more than one CD/DVD drive you it can possible that the drive is set not to play video and music. The too you will find in the properties menu.
