I have a HP Officejet 6310v All-In-One with a cd to install and it will not install all the way. At the vrey in it says to ask for www.hpcom/support for troubleshooting information "Fatal Error"...

Dear Cheryl,

I would recommend you download the latest printer software from the HP website for your Officejet 6310v.

If your using Microsoft Windows XP then visit the following link to download the software:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-35363-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=au&os=228&product=441126&sw_lang=&key=null&site=null

If you are using a different Operating system please visit the following site and select your OS.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=441126&lc=en&cc=au&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=au

It is a rather large download over 400Mb so may take some time. Hopefully this helps!

Printer will not work with new computor

Be sure that your printer is compatible with your new computer
You have to install the printer on the new computer in order to get your printer working
Run the installation CD or download the printer program from the internet.

***********************************************************************

If you already have your printer installed and it is not working

Try doing this
disconnect printer from computer
cancel documents in queue
if using a straight USB connection, delete all instances of printer. else remove duplicate printer icons.
reboot & reconnect printer (swap cables if not detected)

Got new computer and printer won't connect

Hi,

There may be a compatibility issue between the printer and the new pc. Check the xp/vista compatibiliy list to see if your printer is on it. If not you may need to add a patch to make it compatible. Check the website of printer manufacturer and see if the offer downloads for drivers and patches: If you decide to try this follow the following instructions:
Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done

I turn on the computer and it will not go off the first page and will not let me use the keyboard

I am assuning that by the first page u mean the BIOS startup screen. if that is the case then simply disconnect all the devices connected to your computer (keyboard, mouse, printer, web camera, etc)and start the computer . if it goes through then reconnect the devices 1-by-1 and restart . this will let you know which device is failing.

lemme know if it helps
