What is the brand of your printer and the OS you are using?
maybe u need to reinstall the driver and the software....

My printer X5270 has lost connection. In the properties field of the printer, under the General tab the location field is blank and under the Ports tab a check is placed by the USB...Virtual port for USB....


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.


You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/nb3gkh. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

I have two DNS servers and one acts as the shadow for the other, well about two weeks ago I formated my FILE and PRINTER SHARING computer and reinstalled al the drivers, for the computer and the...


when you reformatted the machine, it sounds like it used to have a fixed IP address and it had a DNS entry. Now the machines are trying to reconnect to the DNS entry, but the server is no longer on that address.

You will need to reset the address back on the machine, and fix it, as it sounds like it has picked up a DHCP address by default.

I changed the ink of my printer and now it wont print anything just keeps flashing a red light. Ive tried turning the computer on and off but nothing is fixing it. Please help


Please perform the steps below and check..

1. Make sure the product is on, and then disconnect the power cord from the product.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from the product, and then disconnect it from the computer.
3. Reconnect the USB cable to the computer, and then reconnect it securely to the product.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, and then reconnect it to the wall outlet.
5. Reconnect the power cord to the product.
6. Press the Power button to turn on the product.

If the issue still persists please get back to me with the Printer name and model number

Printer won't start


1. completely unplug power cord from wall socket,
2. unplug power cord from printer
3. unplug printer cable completely from computer
4. unplug printer cable completely from printer.
5. let printer stay disconnected for approx 1 minute
Now securely:
1. reconnect the printer cable to the printer.
2. reconnect the printer cable to the computer
3. reconnect the power cord to the printer
4. reconnect the power cord to the wall socket

turn printer on

You may find that a connection has simply worked itself loose over time.

The printer was working fine before,but you just cant print off the laptop any more.iv tyred to reinstall the dics but it come up failed?

Give this a try ...

In Printers and Faxes, remove your printer icon.
Disconnect your printer cable to the computer.
Restart your computer.
Reconnect your printer cable to the computer.
Printer should be seen by computer.
Install printer driver (software).

If the printer is not seen by the computer, your printer cable is probably faulty and needs to be replaced.

I can print from my Dell 926 all in one, but it wont scan


Try removing your 926 icon in Printers and Faxes, disconnect the USB cable, restart your computer, reconnect the USB cable, see the 926 and install the driver again. If scan has never worked, you probably need a different driver.

Canon Pixma 210


Does the computer see the printer? If using Windows, open Printers folder, and see if the printer shows up. When printing from Word, is the Canon Pixma 210 an option to print to? Double check the cables and re-seat the cables (Disconnect, and reconnect) does the computer make a sound when disconnected, and reconnected? Please let me know if any of this was helpful, or if you have more info that may help with the issue.
