Question about ViewCast Osprey-230 (OSPREY230) Video Capture

Osprey-230 video capture card distorted

My computer recognizes the card. I get a picture in preview; but the picture is has horizontal distortion lines. The lines are even worse when I play back a capture. The lines resemble those lines when a TV set is near a running microwave oven. They seem to be more prevalent during movement.
I had another card (ATI) and it worked okay. I thought this expensive model would be an upgrade. Not so.
I'm wondering if the AVI capture is too much for my video card. The ATI card captured in mpeg2.

You must connect all cameras to solve this problem.if your capture card supports e.g. 4 cameras and you are only 1,2 or 3 connected the image can be poore.your video card has nothing to do with this.

Capture working from camera but not from movie box VCR analoge input

Check the Image source if well shielded. Weak or broken shield in cable will affect the video-sound quality. Try different cable and analog video source. Once you ensure that nothing is wrong at input side. Uninstall-Reinstall the driver and the accompanied software also update driver and the software from Pinnacles support website.

Hello. I am J.H. Jansen, MD Radiologist from the Netherlands. Today i bought Canopus ADVC mini serial number EBC-109151. Bad product. During capturing (on Imac with Leopard but also on Macbook Pro...

Hello J.H. ,
This not a surprise . You just waisted your money .You need top quality material both sides to successfully capture analog/digital programs . A PCI or VGA internal card will do better but you also need a super powerfull pc to obtain satisfactory results , like a I7 intel model with great amount of DDR3 RAM .
I myself experienced that the best results are obtained with a stand alone DVD/Blu-Ray recorder , preferably with an internal HDD . This is really the best way , believe me .
Best regards,
fanaudi

Hi,i have the problem with Audio device on my Osprey 210, video works grate..but audio don't work.... help'

Here's an easy way to install or update your sound card driver:

Use this driver scanning tool, which scans your computer for the needed drivers. It has an option to automatically retrieve them for you.

You can download this free tool from here or directly from this link

After you have downloaded the above file, double-click on it and follow the simple steps to install it. Then, when it asks if you want to run it, just answer yes. This is easier than manually searching, downloading and installing the drivers.

Hope that helps,
Regards,
Raspal

Osprey 210 audio problem

The breakout cable has the RCA connectors needed. Yellow is Video, Red and White are the 2 audio inputs. Alternate inputs are the 1/8" stereo jack for sound and the S-Video plug. (not to be used all together).
viewcast.com is their website.
Also check the setup for recording, that the audio source is selected properly.

The microsoft doesn't identify the osprey 230

since the audio works but not the video, it sounds as though the problem might be in the codec, not the driver. check card provider to see if there is an updated codec pac or new service pac. try: http://www.viewcast.com/driverdownload.asp
