My macbook pro recognized my JVC JY HD10U but won't recognize the image from the screen in order to import what I've filmed.

I am not sure what software you are trying to use, but if you are using quicktime for example to import your footage it should be very easy. Once you connect the camera in playback mode to your macbook with a firewire cable open up quicktime then go to file-> New Movie recording. From there it should see a camera connected but no video. Hit the record button and then start playback on the camera. You should then see the video start to record onto the mac. Let the entire video play though and when it is done hit stop and you have you files! You can now use those in virtually any video editing software!
Hope that helps!

Sony TX7 to iMac Converter-Deinterlace 1080i MTS to QuickTime MOV Cyber-shot...

Sony TX7 to iMac Converter-Deinterlace 1080i MTS to QuickTime MOV

Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 is a new camera by Sony for consumers to shoot 1920x1080i and 1440x1080i AVCHD videos in .mts format. The camera also includes MP4 output, but only with 1440x1080p, 1280x720p and 640x480p resolution. To get HD 1920x1080 videos, the output videos is .mts as file extension. This format provides high definition videos, but is recorded with interlacing artifacts.
However, to play Sony TX7 camera AVCHD videos on big-screen iMac smoothly, I need HD video converter for Mac. I find Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the perfect Sony TX7 MTS to MOV Converter on Mac OS X to handle my movies. With this Sony to MOV converter, I can show my recent trip to my relatives and friends from iMac, sharing the joy and experiences.
Here are the steps I used to convert and deinterlace 1080i AVCHD videos to H.264 MOV for playing my Nevada trip on QuickTime Player.
Step 1. Load Sony TX7 MTS to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
After transferring Sony DSC-TX7 AVCHD videos to Apple iMac hard drive, run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as Sony MTS converter and click the "Add" button to load .mts videos.
Step 2. Choose H.264 output format.
Click the "Format" option and choose HD Video > H.264 HD Video(*.mov) as output format. The Mac Sony TX7 MTS to MOV converter will transcode 1080i .mts videos to 1080p .mov for QuickTime on Mac.

Tips: You can also choose the .mp4 output format for playback on iMac, as QuickTime Player supports .mp4 videos.
Step 3. Convert Sony TX7 AVCHD to MOV.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Mac Sony MTS converter starts converting Sony DSC-TX7 MTS to MOV in full HD 1920x1080.
After the conversion, I show Sony TX7 camera videos at home to relatives with big-screen iMac. Take Sony TX7 camera or other AVCHD camcorders for your travel, and it is easy to show relatives the recent wonderful trip with the HD videos and beautiful scenes.

Computer cannot read and play the .mp4 video files from my Sanyo XActi CMOS 1920X 1080 .Is there a software I can download from the net?

Yes.

This is what the Sanyo CG9 Users Manual has to say about viewing videos taken with the camera:

"About video clip files recorded with this camera
You can use Apple’s QuickTime to play back video clips on a computer.
Playback may be possible using other software that supports the ISO
standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AAC audio)."

There are many ways to view mpeg-4 videos, but the one that is recommended for your camera from the CG9 support webpage is apple's quicktime available from apple here.

I can't download my videos from my JVC GZ-HD7U into my PC using Magix Edit Pro.

Hi there,
It happens because you didn't install the quicktime plugin. once the quicktime is installed it will show the preview of the video so you can make your selection.
download the quicktime plugin: http://www2.cli.co.jp/products/ne/update_qtc_for_gzhd7/qtc3e_update.htm

if not download the VLC player. it will nearly play every format. Choose your .tod file and play it on vlc. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
