You BIOS setup at the time of bootup should have a reset to factory settings. However if it requires a password you may have trouble getting into it.

Some notbooks have a battery you can pull off the motherboard to reset it back to factory settings. It usually is a small lithium battery.

How to chang bios settings password intel Dg43nb board i m loss my bios password

All mother board has a CMOS, complementary metal oxide semiconductor, battery. The main purpose for the CMOS battery is to store the system time, date and bios settings even if the computer is turned off or the main battery dies.
Turn off the computer (laptop) unplug it. Remove the Phillips screws that secure the motherboard cover then release the cover from the clips on the bottom of the plastic casing. Lay the cover aside then locate the CMOS battery cable on the right side of the motherboard. Unplug the cable then remove the battery. After a few minutes plug the CMOS battery into the motherboard... Replace the screws then turn the computer (laptop) back over. The CMOS battery is unplugged for more than a few minutes your BIOS will be reset to the default manufacturer settings. (Password removed) now you can set new password for your bios..

My computer shows a message like this on the start : "this computer system #7WQ6V3J-595B, is protected by a password authentication system, since i bought this laptop in a "used sale fair" i dont know...

Hello,

the computer has been locked from the bios settings.

What you need to do now is to access the Cmos battery on the laptop, remove the Cmos battery and turn on the laptop without the Cmos battery.

The Cmos battery is where the laptop memorizes the password and stores it. So when the Cmos battery is absent, the computer cannot remember any password

The Cmos battery is like a watch battery, but its bigger than a watch battery. You can find the Cmos battery when you loose the laptop from under. But you must first remove the laptop battery before you loose the laptop. You can open the link below to see what a Cmos battery looks like:

You can also check the below link for more information about the bios.

Take care.

Power button intermittant travelmate 2300 series laptop brand new power pack tried both power and charging lights on suspect switch but where can i get said power switch and who is agent in worthing area...

I don't know who has them in the Worthing area, but I have seen them listed on Ebay. (Not advertising for Ebay)
They list as an ON/OFF Switch Assembly, for the Acer Travelmate 2300. A small circuit board.
Proper name from Acer is just - Switch Board.

(Rectangular in shape, would be the easiest way to describe the circuit board. Has more than just the Power On switch. Also has the Launch Key buttons, that are next to the Power On button)

Two screws attach the board, and one end plugs into the motherboard. There are other components that need to be removed first.

1.Remove the AC adapter, (Charger), if plugged in. Remove the Battery. There must be no electrical sources for the laptop.

2.Buy, and wear an ESD wrist s-trap. (Censored word, s-trap)
Connect the alligator clip to a good ground source.
(I use an empty desktop computer case, and connect to the metal frame)
Average cost is $6 USD, and can be found in a multitude of places. (Radio Shack is one)

Electro Static Discharge
Your body carries Static. Static electricity will fry out the delicate hardware components inside a computer. You may not even see it, or feel it.
An ESD wrist s-trap helps to relieve your body of static.

3.The cover that goes over the Power On button switch, and Status Indicator lights, pops off.

It comes straight up. I use a flat tip Jewelers screwdriver, and ease up the side, Opposite of the Power On button.
As it comes up insert a plastic letter opener, guitar pick, or similar device to keep the gap open that you have created.

Use the screwdriver to go along the bottom edge of the strip, and head towards the Power On button side. (Bottom edge faces keyboard)

This shows the Switch Board with the cover removed,

I cant remember the start up password for my old acer 520 travelmate how do i boot my laptop please

The older Acer computers stored their passwords in the CMOS, so all you have to do is remove the CMOS battery for 30 minutes. Here is the proper procedure to do it correctly.

Disconnect the ac power adapter and remove the laptop battery. Push the power button for 10 secinds to drain any residual power. Remove the CMOS (RTC) battery for approx. 30 minutes. Replace the CMOS battery and attach the AC power adapter only, leave the main laptop battery out for right now. Power the laptop up and let it post. If it still asks for a password, leave it blank and try hitting enter. If it accepts the blank entry and posts, then you can enter the BIOS and change your settings.

Below is the link for your service manual to assist you in the removal and tear down of components for your system.

BIOS password

Removing the battery is the only solution you have. Other than that is 0000 or 12345 the default passwords. But removing the battery is a sure shot.

I just hauled my very old Acer notebook (Travelmate 220) out of storage to give to a worthy cause, but I can't open it. It's password protected which is something I never usually bother with, but back then...

For that you have to reset bios settings.
Open back cover of laptop then find motherbord .
Pull CMOS cell from motherbord for 10 minutes from motherbord so all settings reset.
You can also reset password with jumper on motherbord.
Find jumper on motherbord named "clear cmos " or "reset bios " it has 3 pin.
Set jumper in 2-3 position then again put jumper in 1-2 position .
Then all settings goes to factory defaults.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.
