Re: Initialize my Pocket PC

When you initialize your Pocket PC, the factory default values are reset to the status as when you originally purchased the Pocket PC e570. NOTE: When you initialise your Pocket PC, all data stored in the memory is deleted. Personal programs and data are permanently deleted from your Pocket PC’s. The factory pre-installed operating system Pocket PC 2002 remains intact. Before initialization your Pocket PC, remove all storage cards. To initialize your Pocket PC, please follow these steps: Turn off the power to the unit. Then press the power button while pressing and holding the reset switch with the stylus. Release the power button. When a screen appears, release the reset switch When initialization is completed, the "Welcome Screen" will appear. Set up the system according to the startup procedure as indicated by the on screen instructions.

Doesn't start up

Hi, Based on your post/description, your iPaq 2210 will not power on. It is possible that your battery is deactivated. To reactivate, plug it to the AC power supply/adaptor, press reset at the back of the unit. Assuming no other problem, the unit will initialize back to default factory settings. It's very likely that all your previous/personal settings, files and applications will be also gone. Good luck and pls post back how things turn up. Kind regards.

PocketPC e570, Is there an opportunity to set it back to factory default?

you could set back the e570 factory default very easily. On the left side of the pda you could find a small button, called RESET button. You have to do these following steps: The pda have to be turned off, then press the power button while pressing and holding the reset switch with the stylus, release the power button and when a screen appears, release the reset switch. But be careful, when you reset your pda all data will be lost and make sure that all storage cards are removed!!!

When using either Windows Media Player or Windows Media Player 8 on your Pocket PC e570 you will need to program Media Player to recognise the button functionality of the Remote Control Earphones by following these steps: Select Tools, Buttons. Select each individual function and press the relating button on the remote control. After all buttons have been programmed, press OK which should take you back into Media Player. N.B. The remote control buttons will not function when playing back voice recordings as the earphones can only be used for listening in this mode.

Not turn on

The Toshiba Pocket PC e570 is shipped with an Enabled security feature, which switches off the batteries. In order to be able to turn on the unit, the Battery Switch must be in a battery "Supply" position. Please check if the Battery Switch is in a Stop position or Supply position. The Battery Switch can be found on the lower left edge of the unit, next to the "Cradle Connection Port". Please see the below diagram The Battery Switch supplies or stops power to the Pocket PC. When using the Pocket PC for the first time, slide this switch to the left with the stylus pen. The Battery Switch Lock on the lower left side of the unit (see the diagram), secures the main Battery Switch to the Supply position. If you have further questions, please refer to the Instruction Manual page 2-3 (13 of 103).
