Try using another disc in the recording device. if it works then the device is proper.if it does not work then the device is faulty.these errors occurs due to following reasons.
1)some where loose connection(that can be repaired)
2)the reading lens is weak (lens can be cleaned but not be repaired .it can be replaced.)but replacing would be very much costly.buying the new device is very much advisable.
still for the last try take it to the repair shop.hope that helps...

pls do rate the solution

thanks.

The player detected that the recordable disc inserted is for 8x speed. check the disc speed requirement of the player before purchasing another blank cd.

It only means that the dvd cannot record on the Disc , possible reasons are the disc is not good that why the dvd canot record to it, or the dvd itself is not working fine to the recording part, Try using a different Disc to record with and see if it will record fine, beucase if it record fine on another disc it only mean onething the first dics is not good..

Hope that helps.....

Turn off first your about 10 secs then turn it on. be sure to check what disc youve inserted and see if its compatible with it.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    Other things you can try are:

    • clean the optics/lens, initially with a CD ROM disc cleaner, otherwise, have to open it up;

    • Reset the unit by unplugging from the mains for an extended period in the hope that is is a systems glitch;

    • try playing first a known good DVD disc before recording.
    Cheers.

Record tv to dvd on Funai recorder

The Funai ZV427FX4 doesn't have a tuner. You'll need a set-top box (either a digital tuner or a cable box) that has a composite A/V out. Make sure to use a compatible DVD-R or DVD-RW disc (see page 27 of the manual given below). For basic recording, insert a DVD and press DVD to make sure that the recorder is ready to record to disc instead of video tape. (You may need to format the disc for DVD-RW.) Press Rec Mode until the correct mode is chosen. Then press Input to select composite input 1 or 2 (L1/L2). Set this source to the desired channel. Then press Rec. (For scheduled recording, make sure that the unit is set to DVD. Then press Timer. Follow the on-screen cues to set the time to start and end the recording. Otherwise the steps are the same. Then press Timer Set.) See the manual for screen-shots of the procedure.

The manual for this model is available on the product page: http://www.funaiamerica.com/product/product.php?id=877 . Click on the Downloads tab. The direct link is currently http://www.funaiport.com/download/download.php?id=3361&brand=FUNAI . For older Funai units with an NTSC tuner, you will probably still need the set-top box. However, you can either connect the box to the composite video or RF input. (If you want to record a program from a low-power analog station, you would skip the set-top box.)

I hope this helps.

Will not record all I get is Error 3-51

I had a similar problem, it turned out the first time I tried it I didn't have a DVD in the tray! Then I found I was using a DVD+R blank DVD and this machine needs DVD-R DVD's. It certainly solved my problem using the right blank disc
