Print Cartridges Hi, Can't find the manual. Replaced the print cartridges (looks like the only way that they will fit in there) and it says "Print cartridges missing or not detected" HELP!!

I have the same problem and I can't seem to find a solution. Changing the print cartridges works for a while, but it always reverts to the same old problem after about a month of working! I know I'm not using ink that fast, I hardly ever print anything before it says "Print Cartridges missing or not detected" I'm really fed up with it.

I'm having the same problem. We haven't had the printer that long; this is only the second time we've changed cartridges. I opened the new cartridge this morning, put it in, and it won't let me print anything.

What's probably happening is there is excess ink on caked on to the contacts on the carriage (I think that's what they're called). They're pretty easy to clean and the cleaning process takes about a minute. Just remove whatever cartridges are in the printer, take a cloth that will leave a minimal amount of lint, and wipe at the dark spongey contacts located just below where the cartridges would sit (that is, on my HP C4280, as other models might have them somewhere slightly different, but they should be right around the cartridges' spot). When the caked on ink is removed and all you are wiping at is the sponge, insert the new cartridge(s) and the printer should work.

My HPDeskjet says alignment failed. Cartridges are set to default quality. I just replaced the ink cartridge.

Are they refills? HP will not accept refills at all . I know from experience.
If they are HP cartridges then the print head is probably clogged. ( the big square tray that the cartridges fit into)
You'll have to remove it (just a latch or clip. Look in manual) and replace it. They can't be cleaned. I've tried on several different models.

I have an ESP2150 with an error message of printhead loose or missing. I checked print cartridges, I replaced print cartridges, I re-installed software and drivers.....I still receive the same error...

Hello,
Unfortunately, trying to diagnose a printer without actually looking at the printer is a little like trying to diagnose a car engine over the phone. But, from the sound of it, the problem you are having is not exactly pertaining to the print "cartridges" but the print "head" which is the part of the printer that actually introduces the ink to the paper, and is actually part of the tray the ink cartridges fit into. Here is a picture of it:

This print head is able to be removed and replaced if needed. It may be something as trivial as being loose. You can remove it from the printer and reinstall it to make sure it is seated correctly. Here is a link for instructions on Kodak's website on how to uninstall and replace the print head:
Installing and replacing print head.

If the print head is either damaged or worn out (which can happen) you can replace the print head, which I just did a search online for one and it appears the print head is only around $35.00 to replace it. Here is a link to where I found a replacement print head:
Kodak Print Head Replacement for ESP2150

I hope this helps.

Hi, i'm getting error message 1203 on the printer and we've lost the user's manual. Can you tell me what this is?

Error 1203 is a very interesting error code. Here is what I found out about error 1203

Error 1203 is a very interesting cartridge error. It means your cartridges overflow even from brand new cartridges after a several prints or right after you refilled the cartridges. Check to see if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the cartridge

Solution:
I use the lint free cloth(coffee filter work great) with a few drops of water to dampen and clean off those contact on the holder and my printer work again.
Then before you print anything, you should run aligned the cartridges a couple times then run clean cartridges a couple times.
Print the test page to see how it's look and way you go.
Be sure not to leave any debris of lint free cloth(coffee filter work great on those holder contact panel.

Error 0xc19a0035

Hi Good day!!!
Most likely this is a print head issue. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. To attempt to resolve it, do the following:

(1) Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. If for some reason it does not follow these instructions:
(a) Unplug the printer
(b) Manually slide the carriage over until you can get the ink cartridges out.
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water or a mix of hot water and isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now

If that does not work then you have one of two possibilities:
(1) One of the ink cartridges is defective and causing the error
(2) If it's definitely not that, then the print head will need to be replaced.

HAVE REPLACED A new BLACK CARTRIDGE SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE BLACK WILL NOT PRINT

It is very possible the black print head is clogged with dried ink.

Begin saving money for a new printer.

Clean the print heads manually:
Remove the cartridges.
There will be small extrusions where you removed the cartridges.  They are the print heads.  These need to be wiped down with cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol.  Keep this up until you can see the miniscule holes in the top of them.  THE CRUCIAL STEP: Take something thin enough to fit in the holes and push it all the way through.  This will clean out the dried ink and you should be able to print now.

Hi make sure that the cartridges are fully installed and that you have taken the packaging completely off. Failing that there are two possibilities.
1 Print cartridges faulty or refills
2 Faulty Print cartridge head.
