How to access Hitachi 51F59A Service Menu?

    Sorry, I am not sure how to just add a simple comment to my original post here...!

    I own a Hitachi
    51F59 HDTV which is used exclusively as a “computer” monitor. The TV is hooked up via an HDMI cable to a
    computer. Here are some challenges I am

    Periodically and randomly (from 10 minutes to every few
    hours) the screen may turn off or the screen’s colors go crazy (flooding with a
    pink, or green or any other mixed-up psychedelic color scheme).

    The focus of the TV seems to be skewed. Especially in the corners and on the immediate
    right/left sides of the center screen, there is a noticeable blurriness.

    A minor quibble here, but red colors seem to be too
    saturated and bright .

    Yesterday (8-27-2008) I called Hitachi.
    confirmed that a service bulletin was issued on this model, specific to some of
    the issues I was describing. Hitachi suggested I
    contact some professionals and arrange for a convergence correction and to make
    sure that the rep had access to the service menu to look especially at the HDMI
    random drop-out issue. They said that in
    most cases a service bulletin notice to repair centers would be reimbursed by Hitachi…however in
    calling three places none of the shops said they would make the fix for free. So I guess I am looking for “next best steps”

Why do u want into service Menu? To safely make adjustments you will need print out of that information and if you are fixing convergence problem you must have chassis # and hand unit that came with set new.I do have infor on service menu.for 53uwx10b.most sets use same codes/but not on all adjustments.

My hitachi 51f59a has no picture or sound but the menu will come up

1. I would first check to see which input you are actually connected to and if possible try another.

2. If the Menu comes up use the input button to make sure you are on the one you are connected to.

3. Lastly, try hooking something to an unused input and see if it works and if so check whatever you are using for signal for regular Tv.

The more you tell me the better I can help.

Horizontal Lines Hitachi 51F59A

  This is a problem with poor solder connections on the vertical output heatsink on the deflection board, Hitachi makes a repair kit for this, part number is: X480315  this is something I don't recommend you attempt, leave it to the experts.

Philips has a projection cleaner. I wouldn't use adbrasives like alcohol or windex. try or MCM electronics corps
