Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

Tv won't stay on

My tv won't stay on. it never did. i started having problems with it the week after the warranty expired. That's what i get for buying the one set that was on display. Best Buy knocked a grand off the price so i thought it was a good deal. It would occasionally go out, but not all that often. It was right in the middle of football season and didn't want my new and only big-screen in the shop because i'd miss the games in high-def. I realized that if when i plugged in the set, when the screen message at the bottom asked if i had just replaced the lamp. if i pressed "yes" the set would not turn off. So i just continued to to that everytime. But now, the set won't work at all. All i get is a constant red light at the bottom. i had the lamp replaced once already at the tune of $400. should i just chalk this up as a loss and just get a new set. Of course because the warranty had just expired Best Buy was of no assistance, even though there records indicate that i had problems with this tv from day one. I don't know what to do, and football season is about to start and i don't have a big screen to watch it on. I've been reading these complaints. It seems as if alot of people have been having problems with this particular model(WD-52525 52"). you would think Mitsubishi would have recalled it. But i guess from their standpoint that wouldn't be cost-efeective because they would have to take back alot of sets. My best friend bought a mitsubishi 60 inch and fortunately for him hasn't experienced any problems at all.

Blue dots increasing on Screen.

Defective light engine. I would start looking into a new set. Most DLP mfg's have stopped production because of new technology and high failure rate of the light engines. It's not worth the investment.....Sorry!

Defective light engine. Contact Sony support. They warrantied a lot of these sets even after the warranty had expired because of so many going bad after 3-4 yrs. Have the complete model and serial number ready when you call them.

It seems that this TV has the feature of securing the volume so that the kids can't change it. Any way to go to the locks sub menu?

I would contact Hitachi, explain the problems you have had with the set and the inability of the service personnel not beibng able to repair the set. They may exchange it. Dont delay or you may end up being stuck with a set thats destined for alot of repair bills.

Hitachi 55VG825 rear proj television blinking light and screen doesn't light up

Refer to owners manual ! Blinking indicates the type of fault that is occuring on all your tv sets. example : power light on red - indicator light beside it green but blinks rapidly for half a second rapidly then shuts off. This refers to a faulty lamp or a lamp that is near its expiration. Read your manuals if indicators refer to easy repair sweet, but if it says call tech then bummer...
