Please find a PDF file for download with all this information, above. Download and unpacking instructions: To download the file, simply "click" the desired file or link and select save to disk. Download the file to a known directory on your hard disk drive. For example: c:\Temp Open Windows Explorer and locate the "downloaded file" on your hard disk drive. Use an unpacker program to extract the files to a known location on your hard drive. The shareware WinZip unpacker can be downloaded from http://www.winzip.com To setup the dialing properties on the Toshiba Pocket PC, please do the following steps: Tip on start -> settings choose the "tab" connections tip on connections choose the "tab" dialing Locations tip on the button "Dialing patterns" enter your necessary field parameters Please note: disable the "keyboard" in the dialing Locations screen, otherwise the button Dialing patterns is not visible. Tip: Due to the fact that a prefix to dial with a Handy is not necessary, it is a good idea to set all dialing pattern to "G" , which indicates a local number. If one want to use HCSD or GPRS it is recomended to set this parameters to "G", otherwise dealing will not work.

Why i cannot send a fax from my kyocera ecosys fs-1135 mfp?

If you can receive but not send, maybe the number you are sending to should include some pauses, especially at the end of the number. If you have a good dial-tone when you do "On-Hook" then there is nothing preventing you from sending on the machine end. Has the phone system just gone digital? You may need a filter to translate pulses properly. Can you call your cell-phone using On-Hook dialing? I would say there's nothing wrong with the machine. But you'll get blamed for the communication problem in any case. Try manually dialing using On-Hook dialing (turn your Monitor sound up high) and listen for some kind of message. It's a number or line problem. Did they just start requiring an 8 or 9 to be prefix-dialed to get "out?" Or stop requiring it? Maybe there is a prefix number programmed through the default menus that you don't need anymore.

How to closed zero dial in this phone set

phone circuits included electromechanical relays which imposed limitation on the speed of dialing a digit, and therefore dialing a complete 10-digit telephone number could take up to ten seconds, during which hardware resources had to be dedicated to a circuit. The Bell System organized the numbering plan to minimize the cost of providing automatic dialing to large population centers. The second digit of all area codes was 0 or 1, while the second digit of the exchange triplet was never 0 or 1, thus facilitating the recognition of whether a user was dialing a full 10-digit number or merely dialing within the local area code. In this coding scheme it was not yet necessary to dial a leading 1 for access to long distance circuits to other area codes. In some regions, local numbers were 7 digits, or occasionally less, but a toll call within the area code required a preceding 1. Area code 617 in eastern Massachusetts used this system in the early 1970s, while the Chicago area (312) did not. In the Chicago area, one could call the Boston area by dialing only 10 digits, while in Boston, to call Chicago, one would be required to use 11 digits, including the prefix 1.

Hello, We can receive faxes but can no longer send faxes from our HP laserjet 3390. The display window shows a 9 infront of the number we are trying to fax, dials that number and then does not complete...

You have to go into the settings on the fax machine. There will be an option for a prefix number. Someone put a 9 in there. Having the 9 in there will make it dial a 9 then the number you are trying to faxt too. Remove the 9.

Hi,

For dialing the number in the same country you need not to add any prefix just dial the correct number.

Cannot fax because i dont know what to put in the set up under prefix

I believe the "Dialing Prefix" refers to a number that you put in that will allow you to access an outside line or get a dial tone. So in an office environment e.g if you dial '99' before you can dial a number. You can probably leave it blank in an home setup.

Anyway here's a link to the user guide:

Let me know if you still have problems.

How can i download users' manual. I need to get the automatic "9" out of the outgoing fax number.

Hello,

Inserting a dial prefix A dial prefix is a number or group of numbers that are automatically added to the beginning of every fax number you enter at the control panel or from the software. The maximum number of characters for a dial prefix is 50.
The default setting is Off . You might want to turn this setting on and enter a prefix if, for example, you have to dial a number such as 9 to get a telephone line outside of your company telephone system. While this setting is activated, you can dial a fax number without the dial prefix by using manual dial. For instructions, see Using manual dial .
To set the dial prefix
  1. On the all-in-one control panel, press Menu .
  2. Use the < or the > button to select Fax setup , and then press c00597634.gif .
  3. Press the > button once to select Fax Send setup , and then press c00597634.gif .
  4. Use the < or the > button to select Dial Prefix , and then press c00597634.gif .
  5. Use the < or the > button to select On or Off , and then press c00597634.gif .
  6. If you selected On , use the alphanumeric buttons to enter the prefix, and then press c00597634.gif . You can use numbers, pauses, and dialing symbols.

I have a lexmark x4270. Having problem sending fax. Sending local number, it's OK, but sending a different area code, it uses the local area code then the first 7 number of that number. Because someone...

Hi zoaj,

More then likely you have the fax set up to USE A DIALING PREFIX.

Therefore it is automatically doing this, regardless of what you input.

Follow the proceedure below ( which comes directly from the users manual for your printer type ) to change this. Delete the " USE A DIALING PREFIX " information.

once that is done, it will no longer automatically add the prefix for you. :)

I have BOLDED the relevant information below that pertains to this.

Please take a moment to evaluate my solution. Your appropriate rating of my solution would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
