Question about Sharp Office Equipment & Supplies

ARM162 When receiving 8-1/2 x 11 faxes sent from a computer, we recieve it on 11 x 17 paper instead of 8 1/2 x 11. The actual print is 8 1/2 x 11. Is there an adjustment on our part or on the sender's end prior to faxing from their computer?

We have the default tray set to 8 1/2 x 11. Since this seems to happen, for the most part, only when we receive a form letter i.e. insurance certificate, could it be that the margins set on the document are a little larger, so when faxed from a computer, our copier thinks it is larger than 8 1/2 x 11 and automatically changes to 11 x 17? I have noticed that when I receive an email with an attached document, and go to print, I receive a notice that the margins are larger than normal. Just a thought.

It is most likely Defaulting to that tray, you need to go in the menu and change the default tray to letter.

Paper feed rollers and sheet feed pad dirty. Feed roller on top pad should be just below. Clean with alcohol. Papers have clay in them. Recycled is worst. It will glaze the pick up roller and pad.

We are not receiving faxes..we keep getting error code 407..Please help? Thank you.

The message means:

407 No confirmation from the receiving station for the
previous page sent.
Wait a few minutes and send again.

This can mean 2 things

1) you have not set your fax machine to recieve faxes

2) you need to have your fax machine serviced because the part that makes it pickup a fax has malfuctioned

Clean all paper paths with paper path cleaner.
Unplug and then after 10 seconds replug the fax machine and do a test recieve for it

If all else fails, you may need to call a service person to repair or replace the broken or defective part that recieves faxes.

Hope this helps :)

Yes , if the fax machine says low ink or toner , then it needs it alos check the drum corona wire, It may need cleaning, and you can clean it using a #2 lead pencil eraser, Gently in the wire, then replace wire and try receiving a fax.

How do you print on legal paper from memory?

You have sent a fax? Or you have received a fax.
If you have sent it, it's gone and can't be printed.
If you have received it, then you obviously have to put legal paper in the tray, and program the paper size in your system settings to tell the machine it is Legal paper in the tray. However, once again, if it has already printed the fax (likely on 2 pages) then it's gone from memory and can't be re-printed.

Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One - faxes storing instead of printing

When the machine is in one of the following situations, the fax is automatically stored in memory.

- If ink is low or has run out while receiving a fax
- If the paper size/type setting is incorrect
- If the paper has run out while receiving a fax
- If the Output Tray is closed
- If OFF is selected for AUTO PRINT RX
- If you pressed the Stop/Reset button to cancel printing of a fax

The most likely problem is that the ink is low.

You can change the settings to still print if the ink is low by pushing the fax button and then the menu button.

Scroll over until you get to RX settings (I think it is the 6th option) and push OK.

Choose the option to Auto Print RX, and press OK.

Make sure that On is selected and even if it already is the chosen option, press OK.

When the option appears to print with no ink, select yes. This will allow the fax to print even when the ink is low.
