Question about Canon PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera
I deleted all photos on my memory card while it was in my camera, and it (my camera) says "no images" but when I go to download new photos, (say 10 or more) to my computer, I get about 180 photos that should have been deleted. I don't understad this.
Your camera creates folders on the SD card to hold the images. It puts about 100 images in each folder. (See page 111 in the User Guide.) When you erase images, it may only be erasing the images in one folder. But your computer still sees the images in the other folder(s). To completely erase all images, use the "Format" function (see pages 25 - 26 in the User Guide). To completely clear it, use the Low Level Format option. You can download the User Guide here.
