Question about Star Logic 17" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Changing Resolution I am unable to adjust my Starlogic monitor screen resolution--it is stuck on 640 X 480, so everything is GIANT. My new computer says that my monitor is "generic PnP monitor." If that means anything. But it was the same when I used it with my old computer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I have a brand new Vista operating system. I am also kinda dumb technologically, but this is bugging me. Like I can't slide over the little thingy to increase the resolution.

I have a 17" Starlogic. Everything is too big. Is there any other way of changing the resolution. I am taking the steps to change it, but it won't move. It is very irritating, especially when the screen is too big and it won't let me go to the bottom of the page!!! I can go so far and then when I need to OK something it won't take me there!

    Please help...

There is a chance that your computer onboard video does not support a higher setting. what operating system do you have, using onboard video or a video card would assist me in giving you advice.

Unfortunately vista isn't the only factor in video settings. Your computer has to support a video setting increase in resolution. that is the make and model of your computer. I'll have a look and see what it does support.

How fix computer monitor stuck in low resolution

If your resolution is too low, you can change that by clicking on the Start button and then clicking on Control Panel. From the Control Panel window, click on Adjust screen resolution from beneath the Appearance and Personalization section. From the Resolution drop-down, select the highest resolution by moving the slider to the top. Your resolution should be just fine now.

To change your font size, go back to Control Panel, search for "window color" in the search box, and then click on Change window colors and metrics". You can adjust font sizes from here.

StarLogic- Out of range

The computer needs its screen resolution reducing or changing in aspect ratio to suit the StarLogic monitor. Use a previously-working monitor and reduce the resolution on the computer to 1024 x 768 pixels or less (right-click an unused part of the desktop, click Properties and select Settings; slide the resolution slider to the left to adjust). The StarLogic monitor will now work; plug it in - do the resolution adjustment again as above, but increasing the resolution until you are happy. Going this way around, your computer will failsafe back to the previous (lower) resolution if the monitor says Out Of Range again, so you cannot lose the display along the way..

Intstalled starlogic moniter to PC and got error message

Hi,
the "Out of Range" message usually appears when the video card is putting out a video resolution or frequency that the monitor isn't able to handle. You should reboot your computer and BEFORE the Windows screen shows up, press the F8 button once every half-second. THis will bring up the boot menu for Windows. Select "Enable VGA Mode" and press enter. THis will load Windows in VGA mode where the screen resolution will be 800x600 @ 60Hz. Any modern monitor is able to use this. Once you log into Windows with the basic video settings, you can go into the Display properties within Windows and bump up your resolution and frequency as needed.

Starlogic 17'' as dual display not clear

Check and see if your NVIDIA drivers are up to date. Then try changing the resolution on your laptop to match the native resolution on the monitor and see if it works. If it does then you will need to look for the option to set custom resolutions on each monitor so that you can have both devices working at diferent resolutions if 1 is wide screen and the other is not.

Let me know if this does not work and you need more help.

Screen resolution

You will need to load the Video card driver for Vista for the model card you have in the system. Once this is done, you will be able to adjust the resolution.

If you need assistance in finding the video driver, post the details of the make and model video card in the system.
