Question about NetGear (IM-WG511T) Wireless Adapter

My wireless adapter lights up steady, but won't connect to the internet

My usb port works, but the adapter won't connect to my server...it worked fine for about two months, but about a week ago it would no longer connect...any suggestions??

Or any solutions?

Hi,

Check the adapter in device manager whether it is installed or not.
if it installed properly. then visit Netgear website for latest drivers
http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/list/p3/43

and download it and uninstall the older version and install the latest version.
thn try to connect it wireless with your wireless settings.

and after that if u'll have the same probl please reply..

Magic Jack Plus worked in USB and then Internet on computer stopped working


It's got the wrong gateway setting. Without a gateway (router) to the Internet it can only see local network stuff. I suspect the Magic Jack is still trying to be the gateway but it has no Internet. Stop Magic Jack doing this and it should work.

Netgear wna 3100 won't install on my windows xp. I have uninstalled it 3 times. It won't recognize the adapter. Then it does. Then in the end it won't recognize it even though it's there...


My adapter constantly loses connection completely to the router and cannont be re connected unless i unplug and replug back in the USB port. What a joke!?

IF The LIGHT IS FLASHING GREEN then there is something wrong with your wireless network
Check your network settings and Retry connecting

  • Steady green light: The adapter is connected to a wireless router, gateway, or access point. The adapter is ready to use.

You might not be getting a correct ip from your wireless router.

first, try to power down the computer and your netgear router for about a minute or two. turn the router on first. once the lights are stable on the router, boot up your computer. if your still not able to access the internet. try this

go to start > control panel > network and internet > network connections or network and sharing center > right click on wireless network connection and go to properties > highlight "internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" > left click on properties, the wireless network connnection properties will then be opened.
make sure that the radio buttons are on "obtain an ip address automaticaly" & "obtain DNS server address automaticaly".

when you are using your internet or downloading any files the light should be flashing. it means your communicating.

Wirless adaptor only sporadically working


Do you know for sure that the usb port is working properly? Plug in a flash drive or a mouse and see if it's detected. If not, it's the usb port. Try another port. If no usb ports work, post a comment and I'll give you some things to check.

If the usb port works:

Unplug the nic, go to device manager and expand network adapters. Plug in the usb nic. If it doesn't show up in device manager, or if no new hardware is detected, then it's probably dead. Plug it into another pc to confirm.
