Some or most remotes flash a red light as they work.... there is a card you can hold in front of remote to see the infrared working. if not remote .. I have seen alot remote recievers fail inside the set. and it was mostly due to standby voltage failure .....pinpoint? get a shematic and check reg. ic and zener diodes... fuse resistors. 5volt standby

The tv does not respond to some buttons on the remote but does to others. The ones not working are Power and Channel but Volume and Mute work. New batteries make no difference. It is a Phillips tv with...

There is a way that you can check the remote buttons are working.

Get a mobile phone with a camera on it.

Set the phone to camera mode.
Whilest looking through the mobile. point the the Tv remote at the camera phone and press each button individually. what you will see on your mobile is a light coming from the remote for the buttons that are working. If certain button are not working you will see no light through the camera phone. If this is the case you may need to get a replacement remote.

If you do need to replace the remote this can be quite expensive to buy from the manufactor. So what I would surgest is getting a sky remote off a friend or family member. or even Tesco. argos. It does not matter what the remote is ie Standard, Sky+ or HD remote. (which ever you can get cheaper) The reason behind this is Sky remote have a default code in them to work PHILIPS tv's. When you get this remote if it does not work your telly straight away. What I would then do is remove the battery's from the remote for a minimum of 10 minutes that way it loses the code someone has set it up for and defaults back to Philips Code.

All of the above will sort your Problem out.

Thanks Little Dish Fitter

You owe me a Pint. : )

Help me

Try Their website says they have a replacement for your original remote model # KKY223 with a model # KKY223A. Call to verify availability. Other sites I have checked state that neither of these is available anymore. In addition, you may want to consider purchasing a generic or universal remote for every day usage to save the factory unit from the day-to-day abuse that all remotes suffer.

If you go shopping for a universal remote, be sure to verify that it specifies that it will work with your particular Konka model. There are a # of people writing to this site looking for remote codes because they didn't verify that the universal remote they purchased would work with their TV.

TV won't respond to ANY remote control

Eagle 57 had the answer, your TV's are blind. The remote control sensing circuit in the TV is faulty. No remote will control it anymore.

Remote Control

Sorry to say but it is very hard to get parts for this brand. I don't take them for repair anymore. I have a few Duraband remotes. If you can give me the model number of yours, maybe I have a matching one for you.

Everything slowly went wrong

Most likely you have a locked up micro on the main board. You would need to have the main board replaced. If the set is not under warranty your cost to repair would exceed your cost to replace.

TV remote is turing on VCR

Is it a original remote or a replacement universal remote? If it is the latter, then it looks like someone has accidently programmed it for the frequency which is compatible with the recieve frequency of the Remote sensor of your VCR or DVD player.
