Question about DCS RGS-305 Professional Gas Kitchen Range

Oven The oven doesn't light and it feels with gas. I see what I believe is a "pilot light" but it doesn't light up and heat up. Only gas comes out!

The igniter is not getting hot enough. It can get hot enough to allow gas to flow but not quite enough to ignite the gas. It is an easy fix. The igniter is usually under the floor of the oven.

I have 36 in Imperial SS gas stove with constant pilot lights on .i believe its a commercial unit.I am unable to start pilot light for oven ,rather it starts and as soon as i release red button ,flame goes...

it sounds like the thermocouple which is heated by the flame is faulty its purpose is to hold the gas valve open so gas can flow but if the pilot goes out the thermocouple stops producing electricity and so the valve closes its there for safety reasons

I have a gas stove/oven, when I turn on the oven the pilot light comes on but the burners don't ignite to heat up the oven. was told that is was not the element if I have a pilot light ????

Heater elements are found in electric ovens, you have a gas oven. It sounds like your main gas valve is not opening because the pilot would light it if it was open. It could be the gas valve itself of the flame sensor. Best to get a tech on it.

Gas oven wont light

Check the pilot light to ensure that the thermostat is in the flame. If a flame from the pilot is not heating the thermo, then the gas will not flow, so that your house doesn't fill with toxic fumes and kill you.

I have a Garland Sunfire 36 inch gas Range. oven does not come on again after reaching temp.

You probably have a bad thermocouple. Try cleaning it off with sand paper. It's the part that the pilot light is igniting.

The pilot light on the oven is on how ever the burner will not come on when the oven is turned up.

Hello,
Their is 2 possible things that are causing the oven to not heat.

1) the pilot burner is clogged with build up and not burning corretly...the standing pitol light is small and when the oven is turned on the pilot enlarges and heats a small bulb connected to a tube on a gas valve,if the pilot burner is clogged it will burn the small pilot but will not enlarge to heat that bulb so the gas will flow to the main burner. If that is whats happening the pilot burner needs to be replaced.

2) the pilot burner is properly heating the bulb connected to the above mentioned gas valve but that gas valve is bad and not opening once the pilot has heated the bulb..so in that case that gas valve would need to be replaced

Unable to locate where o re-light the bake burner on this spectra xl44 oven

Hello,

Your oven does not use a pilot light it has a electric igniter that comes on when the oven is turned on and that is the most common thing thats wrong with a gas oven when it doesn't heat ..that the electric igniter is defective

The oven pilot does not light. The broiler will not work. The only thing that does is the light. GE XL44 range. The burners light and the pilots stay lit.

If you have standing pilots, make sure the pilot for the oven/broiler is lit as well.  When you turn the thermostat up to call for heat, you should see the pilot get larger. That larger pilot flame heats a hydraulic sensor and opens the main burner valve.

    Gas oven dosnt work

the pilot light is there for 2 purposes. number 1 to light the burner and number 2 to heat up the thermocouple, thermocouple is a wire that the flame from pilot suppose to surround by fire. if the pilot is to low it will not reach the thermocouple. you can take the gas line that supplies gas to the pilot and clean it with a safety pin or a small needle. you can test the thermocouple by heating it up with a blow torch on low heat, get it red hot and then turned on the oven. if the oven works clean the pilot, if the oven do not work, replace the thermocouple if separate from safety valve. if thermocouple is part of it replace the safety valve.

Oven pilot light will not stay lit

The thermocouple is bad this is the probe that sits next to the pilot, the pilot flame heats the thermocouple and then it sends a micro voltage to the valve to keep it lit.Goto hobartcorp.com and find your model then the part number.

    Oven pilot light won't light

Part of the problem was my own ignorance about this particular Kenmore gas oven. It doesn't even have a pilot light. Instead, there is an electric heating element close to the burner which gets so hot that it ignites the gas. It seems that the heating element also doubles as a temperature sensor, so that it opens the gas valve only when the heating element is hot enough to ignite the gas. This heating element, called the "ignitor", no longer gets hot in my oven even though there is 120VAC applied to it when the oven knob is turned on. Therefore, the ignitor is defective. I ordered a new one on-line from "Appliance Parts of America" for $31.50 plus shipping, and this should fix the problem. If it does NOT, I'll add to this post.
