I have an HP ipaq 4150. I keep getting an error message that says..."Storage memory is critically low. If you do not increase storage memory, you may not be able to start some programs. Use File Explorer to delete files you no longer need, or move some files to a storage card.
I just purchased a 512 memory card for my ipaq thinking that this would solve the problem. It did not, so I went into File Explorer and removed some files. The odd thing about this is that I never put any pictures or files on my ipaq. So, I went ahead and deleted the pictures and sound bites that came with the ipaq. I even deleted e-mails.
I'm still getting this message and I have no idea why. I feel like I've tried everything. Can someone please help me?

Re: Storage Memory
Memory card isn't really memory it's more like a disk drive. it's not like when you add memory to a PC and the new memory is automatically used.
To make use of this card you need to transfer some of your larger files to the card....
You can move files from within the ipaq...
Click and hold on file.
Click and hold
Navigate with File Explorer to the SD card....
Open File Explorer
Select My device
Now select SD Card
You can create a new folder or select an existing folder
Click on Edit at bottom of screeen.
You can also move files directly from PC to Storage card......
While IPAQ is connected, go to My Computer, then double-click on Mobile Device, then double-click on Pocket PC. Now you will see your Storage Card, and you can use this just like a folder on your PC. You can create folders within it. You can click and drag files to it or to any of it's folders.

Do you use your phone to browse the internet? if so, go to internet explorer -> options -> memory. and let it delete all temporary internet files. That should free a lot of internal storage.
Turning your phone off and on again can also help to delete temporary files to make room in your storage memory.
Hi. Your device gives this problem because its internal storage memory is low, low enough that Windows starts to lack some space. Correcting this issue is simple, you can first transfer some of your personal data (pictures, music, etc..) from your internal memory to your SD Card. (You can do this process by the help of File Explorer, and also that can be found in the Start Menu.) If this is not enough, you can uninstall some of the old programs that you don't use from your internal memory (You can press Start Menu -> Settings -> Add/Remove Programs). At the end, you can check how much space you have on your device (both internal and external card) by tapping Settings -> Memory. I think the empty space in internal memory should be at least larger than 3MB for normal usage. Hope this helps.
two possible things
your phone memory is almost full
or ur external memory is almost full
or both of them
try to free up some space by deleting photos, mp3s and video..
hope it will solve your problem.
third type is Storage Card u can store music and photos there but u cannot merge it with RAM or ROM so pls try to understand this difference
secondly if u want me to help u out on this memory shortage
then u can reset the device i mean hard reset and re install ur applications by time ur ROM is occupied by some useless files and ur performance is de graded try to refresh ur OS Hard reset HP
iPAQ Setup Assistant Use HP iPAQ Setup Assistant to simplify
configuring settings on your HP iPAQ. HP iPAQ Setup Assistant
lets you save the settings on your computer. This can help you restore

u can see the video for that but it is in russian lang but self explanatory
third option is if u want to really get rid of this slow performance and shortage of space just get a clean CUSTOM ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/ for ur PDA strictly at ur OWN RISK
I've had the same problem. Typically the Temp Internet Files are the culprit. Which hotrodvixen mentions, but not the others. Are you using the internet a lot or downloading files from the internet on a regular basis that may be an ongoing problem? What happens if when you get the low memory message you just clear the temp internet files, does that fix the problem (temporarily)?
For any others who need to know how to clear temp internet files:
Open Internet Explorer > Menu > Tools > Options > Memory > Delete Files
The error message is telling you that there is not enough memory to load the BlueTooth driver, try moving some of your files from My Documents/My Music etc. to your memory card.
Also try uninstalling some of your programs and reinstalling them to your memory card, this will free up a fair bit of space in main memory and hopefully resolve the problem.
Also; Tap Start, tap Settings, then tap the System tab and tap Memory.
Tap the Main tab to see how much space is available in main memory, you should see a total of around 115-120MB available (128MB - the lie of storage device sizes - the file system) divided in to storage memory and program memory, if you see considerably less then you're iPaq has a hardware memory problem and will need repairing.
Lastly keep in mind that Windows error messages cannot be trusted and the actual problem may be absolutely nothing to do with memory, so if this doesn't help post back.
The bad news is that many of the programs you might like to do away with are built into the ROM, and can't be deleted. The good news is that most programs will run perfectly well if installed on the storage card, so if you've got programs installed in main memory, you can realize some savings by running them from the storage card instead..
If you go that route, be sure to Remove the program from main memory and then re-install it to the storage card.
