Question about HTC PPC-6800 Smartphone

1 Answer

Non-responsive buttons My Mogel is about 9 months old and starting to become non-responisve. The keyboard, screen, and buttons are sluggish - might take 3-4 pushes to get a response. Pushing the reset button fixes the problem for some length of time. Also, if I've read, responded, or deleted emails during this period, all of that work is lost. The email resets as if I hadn't read it. The same thing happened to my PPC 6700 after it was about a year old. Could it be a windows registry filling up?? Help! :o)

Thanks! I haven't installed any aftermarket software, and the 6800 allows you do stop anything running in the background. I think it's just cursed with the bill gates curse!

I had a similar problem where it kept lokcing up and being really slow, unfortunately i had to do a hard reset ( sets the phone back to its original settings ) and after that it worked fine, i think the problem was that i had to many aftermarket programs on it that stay running in the backround once they were gone it was back to norma.

Letter "s" in non responsive on the keyboard. What can be the error?

Your keyboard could need replacing, or it could just be a dirty key. It may also be a loose connection from the keyboard to the mainboard.

Windows explorer non responsive when sd card inserted. Computer runs slow when using Serif PhotoPlus 9 or 10 and eventually becomes non responsive.

Hi p_allchin1,

This probelm usually occurs when there is problem with the card reader device or even due to faulty cable between the card reader and the System, try replacing the wire and if *** fails replace the reader....

There is a chance of this problem occuring due to Faulty card also..

Laptop Mousepad and Keyboard stuttering, slow

This may be a battery power monitor issue. Try disabling the "Mircosoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery" device. This is located in Control Panel-->System-->Hardware Tab-->Device Manager-->Batteries. Had similar problem with 2 Acer Aspire series laptops (diff models). 2 and 3 year old. Original batteries (both still hold charges for 1.5 hrs of normal usage). Running WinXP, one with SP2 and other had SP3. Both came in the last month with slow jerky TPAD function and nearly non responsive keyboard access. Checked the usual; virus, spyware, hijacking, driver conflict etc. Cloned drive and factory installed..still same problem with kb & mouse. However an external USB keyboard and mouse functioned normally (no lag). Noticed with Battery removed kb & mouse was normal. Finally found disabling ACPI control battery device resolved this issue while allowing laptop to run on either battery or AC.

Panasonic nn-k354 microwave

Is it possible that some spray cleaner got into the controls?

I always recommend that users spray cleaner on a soft cloth then wipe the control panel.

I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since they can crack and damage plastic.

Otherwise, the spray can get into the controls and lock it up or make it act odd.

If it does not dry out over time, it may need to be manually dried or blown out.

The keypad may be damaged or worn out, or control unit may be damaged.

If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa:
