I am trying to scan pictures onto my computer using lexmark 2600 series

on a new iMac. the folders don't contain the thing that the user guide tells me to look for. There is nothing called a "system center", and no list that asks me "what is being scanned".

How to Scan on Imac using the Lexmark 2600:

1. From the Imac Desktop select the Magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the screen.

2. Search for Preview

3. Open Preview App

4. Put item to scan on Lexmark Glass Face down and close the lid.

5. Select File (In Preview from Top tabs on desktop), then Choose 'Import
Image'

6. Lexmark 2600 Series Window opens

7. Change Scan to Folder, Name and Format to your choices

8. Use cursor to highlight area of image to scan in the 2600 Series Window.

9. Hit Scan from the 2600 Series WIndow.

10. Save the file using the File tab in Preview, and choosing Save

Scanner wont scan

Try using the Lexmark Productivity Studio. To access that, on your computer, click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark 2600 Series > Lexmark Productivity Studio.

If that doesn't show up as an option, install the Lexmark Productivity Studio using the installation CD of your printer.

I can't get my Lexmark X2670 to scan and transfer the document to my computer other than as a .JPG file which is taking up too much space.

Try to access the Lexmark Productivity Studio. Just click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark 2600 Series > Lexmark Productivity Studio.

You can try scanning to PDF. If that option is grayed out, you'll need to install the OCR found in the installation CD of your printer.

My scanned pages are too light.

Try to use the Lexmark All-In-One Center Application on your computer to adjust the darkness of your prints. On your computer, click on Start > Prorgrams > Lexmark 2600 Series folder > select All-In-One Center. From the Copy tab, select "darken" copies.
For printing, Normal or Best mode in the Print Setup properties before sending the print job to the printer for printing.

How do I change the Optical resolution on lexmark 2600 to 300 dpi ?

On your computer, go to Start menu > All Programs > Lexmark X2600 Series > Lexmark Productivity Studio. Select 300 dpi for your scan setting. Save the new setting. Then, try to scan a document to verify that the new setting has taken effect.

I didn't get instruction book when bought new so don't know how to copy or scan. can you please help?

If you have already installed the Lexmark X2670 driver on your computer (Windows), try to view the printer's User's Guide by going to the Start menu ? All Programs/Programs ? Lexmark 2600 Series ? User's Guide. If not, you can download the User's Guide for free from the Lexmark website at Lexmark 2600 Series User's Guide. User's Guide gives you some other instructions as well on how to use other features of the printer. Thanks.

you need the complete software to be installed to use the Lexmark Scanner

Click on learn more to check the correct download from your operating system and install it.

Incase you dont find a lexmark printer icon to let you scan, you will have to use Windows or any Picture software to scan documents
Ex. MS Paint brush, Windows Live Gallery, PICASA etc

How can I scan a picture to my computer using 2600 scanner?

Connect the unit to your computer Via USB. If you have installed the control center lexmark came with, then use that, and there is an area that says scan. Try that let me know if its got any more issues. If you don't have the software, look for the CD, or go to www.lexmark.com to download a copy.
