My Whirlpool Imperial refrigerator isn't getting cold enough. I thought I should clean the coils, but there aren't any on the back. I did clean the vent in the front and haven't seen any change yet.

Remove the lower access panel on the back of the unit and clean the coils.

You have a bad defrost timer or board

if the evap fan motor isn't running then most likely this is you rproblem

The drain in the freezer behind back lower panel
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? The defrost water
overflows into the ref. or freezer or on floor
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

Hello,
Their are a couple things that could be causing that.

The conderser coils under the kickplate below the doors is clogged with dust. Remove the kickplate and check/clean using a refrigerator coil brush that could be purchased from your local hardware store (Lowe's HomeDepot Ace hardware)

The condenser fan motor behind the refrig., behind the lower service plate directly next to the compressor isn't running and needs to be replaced.
