I have a dell d600 latitude which has Windows Vista installed, but the trial has now expired and i need to reinstall Windows XP on to the laptop. I have no disks and have deleted the old version of XP from the laptop. I have got a product key for XP.

see if there is a factory restore option for this computer, normally that would be tapping the f11 key during the boot process, most dells come with a boot partition now tha will recover the laptop to factory state
Click on the "plus" sign next to Audio and then click on the right hand side where it says, "Download Now."
These are only for Windows 2000/XP. If you upgraded to Vista, Vista should have the drivers built in. If they don't install, more than likely the soundcard is not compatible with Vista.
Your hard drive may need reseating.
If it still gives error hard disk not found then you have a faulty hard drive.
You need a new hard drive and then install Windows Vista
Any Dell XP disc will reinstall the system back to XP. You will need to download the system board drivers from the Dell Support site after you have installed XP.
There is no availabe network driver for this Latitude d600 found on the dell support website that will work for vista. Most probably this computer is not configured to work with vista.
