Not legally no...

I used to install cable for the cable company and no, each region has there own converter box, and cables hq needs to know about the code on the back of the box in order for it to work.

Digital cable only works when the cable company activates your converter box, so you have to pay for it one way or another.

Keep in mind cable theft is just that theft and you can be sent to prison for it.

Tv wont tune in only been used through sky box

The usual suspect if it cannot tune is the signal source that is selected. Assuming that you are now using cable or another box. You need to first choose the signal source in the tv setup. This just lets the tv know that if it look at such a connector then it should find a signal. As an example there is cable, or aux and so on. If you know where your tv cable or box is plugged into that is all you need to do is scroll through the selections and select the proper source. Then if you are now using a cable you need to tell the tv to scan the source for available channels. That usually is all it takes to get you running. Without a model I cannot tell you what keys etc to press so you will need to look at your user manual (download one from samsung support if it has gone missing on you) The setup stuff is near the beginning of the manual.

My Brand New 40" westing

To get HD channel form your cable TV without using the cable provider HD tuner box but using your TV Clear QAM tuner (your TV has Clear QAM tuner, my TV also has QAM tuner so I do not have to use the cabel box, but my COMCAST does not provide may Clear QAM signals like they use to) to get the unscrambled HD, the cable provider must provide those unscrambled Clear QAMsignals for your TV to pick up the signalS.
Learn more about Clear QAM cable signals:

Did you use the correct setup during the tuner setup to scan the availabel cable channel per user manual?

I purchased a 32 inch flat screen coby tv on 11/2010. I am trying to advance the channels with the right up and down channel button on the remote, but it only goes to favorites. I only want to advance...

Are you using the cable box remote on the cable box or the coby remote on the cable box? or are you using the cable box remote on the TV or the coby remote on the TV? Try using the coby remote on the TV without the cable box connected first to see if the remote even works on the TV, replace the batteries and retry. then try the cable box remote on the TV to see if you have it set up correctly for that TV. Sometimes when you reprogram a remote to work other devices the buttons won't always end up working the commands that are labled on the remote, also there is more than 1 code that may work better than other codes or may match up with the labeled keys more closely. Low batteries will also make a remote act strangely.make sure the batteries also make good contact on the pins or metal pieces inside the remote. I guess I need more info on which remotes are being used for what purpose before I could give a more certain answer.

When I turn my cable box first, and then my Vizio LED tv, the screen is full of rainbow stripes, and loud noise. Please help.

If the cabel box is connected via an HDMI cable, the TV likely needs to go on first then the cable box. This way it may establish the HDMI "handshake" more quickly

No longer have cable service-will I be able to watch some channels without buying a dtv box?

Hello

The short answer is yes, you can watch over the air DTV programming on your tv without buying another DTV tuner. There is one built in to the tv. You will need some sort of antenna and then
you will have to scan the channels. But the tv is NICE and you will do just fine.

Its not broken or nothin i was wondering how to put the input for cabel from cable/sat to colorstream hD1

Cable boxes or satellite receivers typically only come with audio/video output, RF output, and component output. You need an upgraded one which has the Hdmi output jack. The upgraded box will cost you a service fee around $5-10 a month, so if you don't want to pay to receive the 1080p service you can receive 720p by using the component video output leads from your cable box.

The quality is almost as good. The only difference will be that you won't be able to receive the hi-def channels that the cable company offers.
