Question about HP iPAQ RX3715 Pocket PC

Rx3715 - Help needed!

Hi, This might sound like a silly question - My IPAQ is telling me that my main memory is critically low and won't allow me to access certain applications. It would seem that I have been saving stuff in main memory and not to IPAQ file store which I am told with the 3715, you should do - I have bags of space in there. How do I x/fer files from main memory to this, so I can get more space. I really need the answer to be as simple as possible as I am no techo guru at all. I really need to know this as a matter of urgency.

Re: rx3715 - Help needed!

For data files, you navigate to them with File Explorer, tap and hold on their names, a pop up appears. Choose Move to, and then you'll be asked for a location. But data files probably should be moved to a storage card, rather than the File Store. As for programs, it's risky just to move them from one location to another. The safer course is to Remove them (Settings -- System -- Remove Programs) and re-install them to the new location. When installing via ActiveSync, when the installer asks: "Install to default location," answer No, and you'll get a menu asking where. Choose File Store from the drop down. Good luck.

Ipaq rx3715 won't reset.

The description you are providing indicates the PDA has problems in uploading the booting firmware to the memory.

Unfortunately, this means that it needs a professional technician to open and perform a diagnostics on it to fix it.

It may be a defective integrated circuit, or moisture or humidity that got inside de PDA.

Some times is possible to fix it with minor internal cleaning or with minor replacement of electronic parts, but other times is possible to fix it only with the replacement of the main board.

Bottom line, you need to have a quote for diagnostics and repair of it, and make the decision if is better for you to repair it or buy another one.

Best regards,

Have you tried other SD cards?  The box is uncheck for default install folder?  Maybe update the device.

Is there any device(sim card) that can be attach to my ipaq rx3715

The ipaq has no phone-capable speaker system. The speakers in a phone are designed to allow the user, but no others, to hear the conversation. ipaq speakers do not have this capability. Also, the speaker and microphone are on the same end of the system. If HP had intended the ipaq for phone use, they would be higher quality, and on opposite ends of the device.

Internet explorer browser

It's not the iPaq that has the problem. Some sites are just not PDA compatible. I'm sure the new windows mobile 2005 has better web compatibility but I don't know for sure. You can download a shockwave/flash player for windows mobile but I have not seen a java download yet.

Critical component is either missing or cannot start

Have you tried a soft reset or hard reset yet P ? How about a ROM update ? Seem like one of your applications on the Ipaq is having a conflict so try to remove them 1 by 1 and pinpoint the exact culprit Did you have the programs installed on the main Ipaq memory or a SD card if you have one ?

Increasing Memory

The bad news is that many of the programs you might like to do away with are built into the ROM, and can't be deleted. The good news is that most programs will run perfectly well if installed on the storage card, so if you've got programs installed in main memory, you can realize some savings by running them from the storage card instead.. If you go that route, be sure to Remove the program from main memory and then re-install it to the storage card.
