SOURCE: My machine won't brew. It
Hi hfish100,
I believe your Saeco Coffee Maker needs a brew head cleaning. It can get clogged with coffee
residue and oils. Or it could be a bent injector valve or gate valve. Try the following:
- Remove the brew unit. Hold the handle, now the left top side is the "brew
head". There will be an outlet pipe that exits the front side, towards the door
(L-Shaped). Remove the 2 screws holding it to the top, while holding the L-Shaped pipe. Once they are
removed, lift the l brew unit assembly off (be wary, there is an O-ring, spring and rubber seal/disk at the end) Then remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and
twisting the thumbscrew (with your finger not a key)
Under the screen is 2 holes (1 big one in the center, and a small one to the side)
- Put the brew unit upside down over a towel, insert a toothpick or a paperclip into
the small hole and force anything out the other side. Use the toothpick/paperclip from
this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
- Clean the unit and then reassemble. Put the brew unit on towel right side up, now drop the
crystal ball in first. Then the spring small on the crystal ball, followed by the O-Ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that
with the pipe towards the machine. Re-fit your screws, and
tighten them.
- Re-Install screen, and tighten with your fingers (Remember! Your fingers). The screen just
needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head.
If done correctly this should solve your problem.
Kind Regards
