Question about Intertherm Air Conditioners

I have an electonic start furnace. Everything kicks on but the heat. It's like the burners won't light up. I don't have a lot of money to fix it so I was wondering if I could somehow trouble shoot the problem myself

Yes! The furnace goes through 4--steps for complete run time. Step -1 the small vent fan comes on, and prove it thru the small rubber tube that sucks the switch close and tells the c.b. its turnning, Step 2.. the glow plug glow and 08 seconds later, Step -3 then the gas valve open and dump in gas ,which ignites and heat up the box. and proves it got flame through a flame sensor (pin) sticking in the flame .& Step -4, the box heats up to a predetermined temp. and turn on the fan! thats all. Thank-you-very-much!

Having problem with lennox furnace Model ML193DF090P48C-02.Furnace has been working but now and getting worse furnace will kick on 20 seconds or so but nothing.Igniter does not come on.When it finally

Usually when your flame sensor gets dirty, the igniter and burner come on for approx.15 seconds, then shuts down. After 3 tries it will lock the furnace out. You have to shut the power off to the furnace then turn it back on to reset it. You need to turn all the power off to the furnace and remove the flame sensor, clean it with some very fine steel wool and put it back in. Be careful not to handle the Sensor (metal) part with your fingers. Turn the power on and set your thermostat so that it will call for Heat. That should fix, it if not you may need a new flame sensor.

I started my forced air furnace yesterday and it worked fine. Today the burner kicks on when the thermostat calls for it, but this morning the burner kicks on, but the fan won't start.

Hello there,
If the burner kicks on but the fan is not starting, then it simply means there is a problem with the blower motor. The problem most likely is that the motor is dusty and need to be cleaned out.
Once the motor sis cleaned out, have it greased and installed back and ensure the wiring is intact, then turn on the furnace and the fan will start to foll. If that does not solve the problem, then it means there is a problem with the blower motor and it meeds to be replaced.

The furnace will start and run for 5 mins and kick off. Then the burners will not reignite after that. However, after everything cools down (about a half and hour later) it will restart and run for...

Hello, sounds Like the Furnace is tuning off due to the limit switch or rollout switch opening. A limit switch and rollout switch are safety swtiches that will turn off the furnace if it gets to hot or the burners flames are abnormal. Usually a weak blower motor, dirty blower wheel , dirty burners or even a crack in the heat exchanger can cause this problem. Best bet is to call a hvac technician and have them check it out.

My Ruud furnace used to regulate 1 deg +\- the set temp. Now it regulates right at the set temp and the fan cuts off while the burner continues to fire for a minute or so then the fan kicks back on for...

Hi,
It appears to be the fan limiter switch. It comes on at a certain temp when heating up and shuts off on the high end of its setting. Once the burners are shut down, the fan continues for a few minutes to cool down the burners. The limiter switch is adjustable but it sounds to me to be defective and should be replaced. Good luck and stay warm, :-)

check your air filter, a very dirty filter will cause the unit to over heat "180'" The burners turn off the unit cools itself with the blower and then relights.

Flame sensor dirty

Sandpaper lightly scrubbed over the sensor tip to remove any contamination.

Sometimes cleaning is not enough and the sensor must be replaced.

I have an old unit approx.11yrs old. When turn on for heat, kicks my breakers off. It runs for about 1/2 hr. before shutting off. Tried running the emergency heat bu t, it continues to kick the breakers off...

Well, obviously your furnace is overloading the breaker it is on. Try this, turn off the breaker that the furnace is on and go through your house to make sure everything else still works. Furnaces are large power users and should preferably be on their own breaker/breakers. If everything still works then have someone you trust check the connections at your breaker box. I have had the same issue where after approximately a half hour or so my furnace would kick off.
Upon further inspection of the breaker noticed a loose connection that apparently was causing an arc and tripping the breaker. After it was tightened down I stopped having the problem period.

1986 Weathermaker SX 150 series, model S85X060-CC-1

There are 4 -steps for full run time to kick in a furnace.. step-1, inducer fan runs & prove thru the air tube which closes a switch and tell the circuit board to go to step-2, the igniter lights the pilot & prove its lit by heating the thermocouple, which tells the circuit board to go to step-3, opens the gas valve to dump gas in, which will light from the pilot light, and prove by a flame sensor metal stick on the last burner , which heats up and tell the circuit board Saying, ok , I've got flame.. step-4. when the box heats up, it closes a switch and turn on the main fan...! (Some gas-valves has a brain -or circuit board on top of them and are real sensetive to moisture..)
