Try a new set of batteries in the remote... If that doesnt work, look on the indoor unit , behind the filter screen or on the side for a "manual start or emergency start button or switch" If that works, it may be the remote is faulty. If not the remote, it will be the recveiver board on the indoor unit.

Our Kreisler air conditioner is rarely used, is 7 years old and will not switch on. The batteries have been renewed on the remote. Could it be the sensor in the unit? Do I need a service man?

The first thing I would suggest it to verify that power is provided to the unit. You should get a display on the face of the indoor unit if there is power. If there is power, try turning the outdoor unit off for a few seconds and back on to reset the controller. If your unit is like I think it is, the indoor unit receives its power and control signal from the outdoor unit, then the remote utilizes a rf signal to control the system. Also try new batteries in YOUR remote.

There is problem of transmission signal.whether indoor receiving sensor or passing signal in remote.
You can check with same type remote to operate the unit. If unit works your remote problem, if not your receiving sensor in PCB problem. That can be repaired. Helpful?

Our Samsung remote control ARH-428 will not work. We have changed batteries however we can not make it operate our air-conditioner

If even with new batteries not working means transmission signal problem. May be with remote or receiving signal problem with indoor. Check your remote with camera mobile and press on/off switch. If it's ultra light flashes, it's o.k. Then repair receiving signal in PCB.If no ultra light in remote, replace remote.

Sound like a defective receiver board. Have this checked. Also check to see that your remote transmits. Hold the top part of the remote to your phone or digital camera lens. press a button and a light should appear on the screen of your phone or digital camera screen.

Remote control signal to multi or split air conditioner, samsung

maybe the lightning has something to do with that but to make it sure try to call a service person and try to refer it and kindly ask some explanation if he can fix it so that next time you can justify the reason this thing happened.

What is the code p3 at Mr Slim thermostat

Signal transmission error (Remote control does not respond to indoor unit)

Causes:
Bad contact of transmission wire
Signal transmitting/receiving circuit is abnormal
Wrong operation due to noise interference by another appliance

Mitsubishi recommend replacing the transmission cables, the controller or the indoor board. Had the same problem myself one, I ran new temporary transmission cables. The unit ran no bother. Swapped the transmission cables for the original and the fault disappeared.

Remote doesn't work.

John I suspect that your remote sensor reciever on the ac unit is bad, you may need to replace it. Quite simple two screws and a plug in fitting.

Remote operation of ceiling fan NOT working.

Try to check the remote control by using camera or cell camera, just use it as your eyes to see if the remote control emits signal. Just point your remote control to the camera and "on" then check if the remote control emits light, if no emitted lights means defective remote but if emit lights then the receiver is defective . Try also to locate if there are any reset or rst button on the remote control and press it then test.
