My Gateway FPD1530 (2002) Flat Screen Monitorwill no longer power up. At first, it would turn on briefly (with no image) andshut right off. Now, it won’t even power up. I am trying to determine if it iscost effective to repair it or if I should just go ahead a buy a new one? (fyi - I am not an electrical wiz) Thankyou for your help!!!
There are multiple circuits for this model.
Quick turn off of the backlight can be caused by deteriorated solder
connectiond on Q6 & Q10 on the power supply/inverter board.
Resolder and reassemble. (board mfgr: BI Electronics)

Well, I've disassembled my FPD1530, and looked all over on the inverter board (labeled ADP-30EP REV:B), and I cannot find any signs of connections: Q6 and Q10, nor did I find any connections that looked like they were cracked. Do you have any pictures that point these connections, or any way to describe their general location in finer detail?
Thanks!
I have many of these units and they all have the same problem. Tubes light
up for several seconds and out. The problem appears to be an oscillator
on the flip side of the adp-30ep
I have the same problem, but on the contrary... on my inverter board, there are two parts ( C104 and C105) that are identical. C104 is fried (identifyable burn through the casing). When I turn on the unit, I get a hissing sound, then lights out. The top of the component is labeled 18J100. In all I search, I can't figure out what this part is exactly, or where I can find just that piece. I don't want to waste $65 for a new inverter if there is a part I can substitute that will work. If anyone has a suggestion, I don't check forums/posts often, but I do check my email. [email protected] Thanks in advance for any info you can give.
I have exactly the same problem, when turn on the backlight is on for a second and turn back off. I have tried to troubleshhot and I have found that the inverter board deliver 16Vdc in off position, 12Vdc(that is the correct voltage) during one second and finally raise up to 20Vdc. The 5Vdc is correct and ON/OFF signal from main PCB is ok. I will try to check the power supply side in place of inverter side that I though was bad.
