Wlan my driver for my Briadcom 802.11g keeps dumping and my wireless light goes off, sometimes when I try to reload the driver it says the device is not installed... I have used the device manager to fnd the device and it is not listed... I think the switch may be broken, because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

My wlan (function/F10) key doesn't work/light stays amber!!!!! No wireless internet/Internet only works when directly plugged into PC.

Check in device manager for the wireless card. Right click 'my computer' select 'properties' click the hardware tab and device manager, it should be listed as a network device. if it's listed update the drivers, it may just be disabled in windows. If it's listed as installed and working correctly in device manager it may be faulty.
you can also try running 'cmd' to lauch the command prompt and typing "ipconfig /all" this will show all available devices in your computer and their state.

Good luck.

I reinstall every day the driver downloaded from HP site, making clic en setup. Then, I can work. But, next day the wireless adapter disapears. I do not know why. So, the parcial solution is reinstall everyday the wireless adapter downloaded.

WLAN device driver loading Issue

Sounds like the device driver to the wireless card is corrupt. Click on start>right click on My Computer>Properties>Hardware tab then Device manager. Click on the "+" sign next to your wireless Network adapter. Then right-click on your network adapter, click on Update driver. The system will automatically look for the new driver and download it. If there is no new driver then go to the manufactureres website. All of the drivers are there. Find your computer and download the driver.

WLAN device driver loading Issue

Greetings,
I beleive you have explained the concern well except for the OS that you use. We have to understand that WLAN is a windows feature. You can try for command prompt by using commands in the netsh wlan context for Windows Vista if you use one and this will help. Else contact.

Hi, I currently own a Compaq Presario V6000 and have had it for roughly just over a year now. Lately the WLAN device is having issues. Sometime when I start up the Laptop the WLAN driver does not load up....

I had read that this was an issue in these laptops. You sould go to hp.com and click support. From there click drivers and software. Enter the model number of your PC. YOu will get a list of drivers. Download the driver for your WLAN, install it, restart your pc and this should fix the issue.

NO INTERNET CONNECTION

Have you tried to reinstall the device driver? Then check the network settings and see if the device is loaded. If you still cannot get the device to work, unplug it and restart your computer. Once reloaded replug in your device and system will recognize the device and load the drivers if they are on system already, if not it will ask fir the driver cd to be loaded.

If you have vista click the start button and in the start search type "hp wireless assistant". It should show up in your list while you type it. Click on it. Once the assistant box shows up, click on "properties". A "settings" box should show up. The main one you need here is "independant controls for installed wireless device". Check that box. The other ones are icons and indicators that you can check at your discretion. If in doubt, check them all. Hit the "apply" button. Then in the upper right hand side of the box hit the button that says "turn on". This should activate the device and if you have a light up indicator on your computer, it should change color or light up. That should do it. Kind of weird how it gets to that point.
