It sounds like you bought these items online from Costco, unless you have a Costco close by. Using the term "pounds" tells me you are in England someplace. A repair shop should be able to repair the problem easily and quickly. The noise you hear might be from the motor that is trying to start. Did you try a different power supply to see if the problem is your power outlet? You might try that. Cheers.

Dell optiplex 780 desktop, Windows 7. No error messages, etc. Beeps 3 times at 3 minute intervals.

GET IT REPAIRED IN A Real PC repair SHOP?
there is no lack of said shop,
all good shops know this fully, for sure. OR LEARN HOW TO FIND THE SOURCE OF NOISE,.
here is link shows why noise ,where noise and tests to find it)
1: unplugging things prove what was bad.'
2; using a home made or real stethoscope. finds it.
3; guessing might work , replacing fans 1 by 1.
4: or get the PC serviced,

learn all fans fail, and most start out as intermittent
as they wear more (physics) then get worse, all do.

High pitched sound coming from refrigerator sounds like loud whiny humm

TRY AND LISTEN TO UR COMPRESSOR SEE IF U HEAR ANNYTHING THERE? IF NOT CHECK UR COMPRESSOR CONDENSOR FAN AND FREEZER EVAPORATOR FAN FOR BLOCKAGE OR OBSTRUCTIONS? OR POSSIBLY 1 OF THE FANS MOTOR IS GOING OUT MAKING FUNNY SOUNDS, ANOTHER THING COULD BE A BAD DOOR SEAL ISSUES WHICH OVERWORKS THE COMPRESSOR AND CAN CAUSE IT TO MAKE FUNNY NOISES

Just brought home a fedders aep09d2b*b portable air conditioner. bought it used. it worked well there but when I plugged it in at home it is making a lot of fan noise - more noise the higher the fan...

If it was running fine before and you moved it and it's making noise, it sounds like something fell against the fan blades. The reason it sounds worse when you turn it up is that the fan is running fast. Grab a flashlight and check to see what might have fallen.

I have no sound

Ah. It maybe that the device was broken when you bought it. If you just brought it return it and get a replacement.

Firstly - is the device grounded? Normally there is a small screw somewhere round the back with a small icon that looks like a fat and short pine tree. This screw should be wired up to something attached to the ground. For example a metal pole in the ground.

Secondly - has it been making any funny noises since it stopped working?
(or before it stopped working) If they slowly came on it could be because the device was not earthed. Or it could be because the product was faulty. Dont forget to check the manufacturers warranty in case you can return it.

Lastly what are you trying to plug into it? And is the volume high enough?

New bright 19.2v nicd battery problem

I have purchased 2 remote controlled toy cars from Costco over the years. These New Bright batteris and charges last only a few charges, and then they go bad. I am disappointed. I will go to Walmart and buy a new battery and see if it works better, if not, i will return to Walmart.

LG 47" 47LG50

Most likely it is not the TV; it's a grounding problem. Are all your devices plugged into the same power strip? They should be. Can you plug that power strip in to another outlet in the wall (even with an extension cord, just for testing purposes)? If that removes the lines, leave it plugged in there. If you can't leave it plugged in there, you'll need an isolator like the Jensen VRD-1FF or similar.
Hope this helps!
