Hi, just done exactly the same, i phoned my local volvo dealer and they gave me the code for nothing .All they need is proof of ownership (v5)document and the vin number, which should also be on the v5, best of luck.

when it says system off that means that the radio is locked and you cannot enter in even the right code. its to prevent the code from being hacked. it used to be we would have to leave the key on and turn on the radio [engine not running] and leave it for i think it was 6 hours. of course a battery charger has to be hooked up or battery goes dead and you have to start over.
frequently the radio gets changed out while under warranty and the rebuilt replacement radio has a new code so the vin# does you no good.we used to write the code on a sticker and put it in one of the door jamns. or felt pen it on the door jamn. the previus owner should have the code or may have written it in the owners manuel.have the car lot ask the previos owner for the code if its not found.
last resort remove the radio and take it to the dealer so they can take the numbers off it and retrieve the code that way
Look in your owners manual usually there is a little card that has the
code in there or in the booklet. Otherwise you will have to go to the
dealer for the code.
The code could be written down in your manuel, if the security code was not programed in the radio try 0000 to reset. If your really good with the ford dealer that service's your car or the sale's rep that sold you the car, they my have the code still in there system since they always disconnect battery's all the time to work on a car.
If they want to charge you a crazy amount, log onto www.radio-code.com. They can help you by getting the code and cost is cheaper then the dealer or carfax.com may also have the code to your car.
Good luck and keep me posted on how you do.
Been there done that and what happend was somebody changed the Radio.. what ya need to do is pull the radio out and get the SER# and all info off the back and call the dealer for the correct code.. Thank You
SOME SLIM CHANCE IF U BOUGHT THE CAR USED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER WROTE IT IN THE OWNERS MANUEL BY THE RADIO CHAPTER OF THE BOOK OR ON THE 1ST OR LAST PAGES OF IT (LOOK FOR ABOUT 5 TO 6 NUMBERS), IF THAT DIDNT WORK THEN GO TO YOUR LOCAL FORD DEALER WITH YOUR TITLE/REG (PROOF THAT U OWN THE CAR) THEY WILL LOOK IT UP BY THE V.I.N. # OF YOUR CAR. SOMETIMES THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU
Take title, registration, and photo ID to the dealership to prove ownership. They'll look it up for her based on the VIN number of the car. They may charge her up to an hour's labor, so be sure she's prepared for that, and be sure they give her the code on a card to keep for future use.
You need to ring the Peugeot Dealers, as I had that problem with my Nissan radio on my Nissan. The dealers were able to immediately provide me with the right code to input and radio has worked no problem since. When I disconnect battery I always need to re-input the same code. If your Blaupunkt wasn't Manufacturer fitted, then whoever of your previous owners who fitted the stereo would have the code, or have you tried Blaupunkt themselves, don't know if they keep codes?
have a 2001 volvo c70 and need to unlock radio.
