Why does my projector keep switching itself off?

This sounds like an overheating issue, with the temperature sensor shutting it off when it gets too hot for safety reasons. Assuming this did not start until after you replaced the lamp, my initial guess would be that either the wrong lamp was used, and it's generating more heat than the unit feels comfortable with, or, the temperature sensor itself is going bad.

Thomson Intuiva 27LB130S5 TV - keeps switching itself on and off intermitently. Will go for weeks without doing this then does it continuously over the space of an hour or so. Any ideas??

there is only a loosed part at the printed circuit board. try to open the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug it before doing this, then try to unplug then plug the connectors in the power supply part but be sure to remember each location of the connector.

When i switch my tv on it has a habit of switching itself off. The red light will still be on and a little green light below it flashes. some days it does it somedays it doesnt. Some times it does it once...

The television is switching itself off to protect itself because there is a problem with it. It may be a bad capacitor, which is usually the case but you have to catch it before it gets any worse. Because then the television will switch itself off and not come back on. The light will just continue to blink and on top of replacing the bad capacitor the entire board the capacitors are attached to might need to be replaced as well as the power supply and main board. Please do not keep turning your television on while it needs repair because it will put itself into a coma and contact a service provider asap.

You need a professional.
Stop using the TV until it is repaired.
Continue to use it and your problems will multiply and grow more expensive.
