Re: Series Back Light

It is possible that by holding the power button down too long, that you turned off the backlight. When you hold down the power button, a menu eventually comes up with "Backlight Off" highlighted. The easiest way to undo this, is to simply do a soft reset. Or, you can hold down the power button again, and "Backlight On" will be highlighted (if there's enough ambient light you can see this message); just tap it, and the backlight will come on again. Also check out your backlight settings by tapping: [Start][Settings]tab[System][Backlight] the tab [Battery Power] should be highlighted; adjust as desired. Next tap the tab [External Power]; adjust as desired. Finally, tap the tab [Brightness] and make sure the sliders are high enough.

How do i correct the dark screen problem with Sony Experia Z (the Big Black version)

The white light sounds like it's gone bad. You'll have to replace the entire screen to fix it since the white light cannot seperate from the screen internally.

My backlight quit working while I was trying to

Either the inverter is shot or the light bulb itself. There is not much you can do about it except for sending it back to HP for repair.

G1 screen doesnt work, stays black, but still works.

Did this happen all of a sudden? Was the phone dropped? Chances are the backlight in the screen went out or the ribbon cable inside the phone that connects the screen some how came loose.

Because your screen is broken and that can only be fixed if you have it replaced.

Have you tried checking the Battery and Display settings from the main screen Settings menu? There is an option to enable or disable the backlight, as well as set the brightness.

There is also a setting called "Use ambient light sensor", which sets the backlight and keyboard light to only turn on if it is dark when you are using it.

Screen light wont turn on

The problem may lie in the settings-->System-->Backlight-->Battery Power--> Make sure you check "Turn on backlight when a button is pressed...." I believe this is a firmware bug. Do the same for external power.

Backlight problems

Well if you hold the power button too long the PDA will just turn off the backlight. If you just hit the power once and not hold it then it should shut off (of course it really never "shuts off" completly because if it did then you would loose all your data).
