Clear vertical lines when printing that do not clear up by shaking toner
Whenever we recieve a fax it prints out with several clear vertical lines running through the center of the paper. I've tried taking the toner cartridge out and shaking it to see if that helps but the result is still the same. I've also tried taking out everything I could remove and wiping it down but that hasn't helped either. Is it time for a new fax or is there an easy fix to this?

Re: Clear vertical lines when printing that do not clear...
Does it do it on copies and internal test as well???
1- check the thin strip of glass inside the machine and make sure it is clean, look at the toner are there any line on there that corresponds?? yes then replace.it could be coming from the drum or toner. I beleive the drum is a seperate piece from the toner

Vertical lines on the copy usually indicate a dirty drum or Corona wire. The Corona wire should be cleaned each time you replace the toner cartridge. This is done by moving the Corona tab back and forth across the wire several times to clear it of debris. You may also want to check the drum for debris. Holding the copied page to where it feeds out and lining up the line or mark on the page will give you an idea as to where the dirt may be. Best of luck with your printing issue. Greg
You need to use the [MENU], [< >] and [ENTER] keys to browse
through the unit's menu. Find and enter the "System Setup" menu and
then search for the "Ignore Toner" option. Press [ENTER] and change the
setting to "ON". Press [ENTER to confirm, the, [STOP/CLEAR] to get out
of the menu system. The unit should start printing all faxes in memory.
1st print a report, can you see the lines? Then either the drum is faulty or the laser scanner is. If the lines are not present when printing a report, make a copy and see then if the lines appear. If so, the scanner is faulty. Try cleaning the glass with glass cleaner. However, blank lines mean that bits are missing from the scanner itself and the scanner will need to be replaced.
My suggestion is if it only happens from that fax then there scanner has a problem.
Not familiar with that model but there are only two ways that i've seen.
1- scanner is located on the bottom side of the buttons. lift menu door, look inside there is a thin strip of glass clean, look on the top side there is a white plate, clean
2- open machine take out toner look on bottom of machine there is the thin glass of clean.
It sounds like you need a new cartridge. I am not familliare with that product, but I would strongly suspect the drum or toner cartridge. They may be all one.
Often those cartridges are very low on ink and do not display a message to that effect
TYPICALLY A FAX MACHINE WILL RECEIVE MESSAGE IN MEMORY WHEN NO PAPER OR TONER/INK FINISHED INDICATION IS THERE, REPLENISH THESE SUPPLIES WITH GENUINE ONES AND FAX WILL START PRINTING.
IF PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED , PLEASE TRY TO CLEAR THE SETTING FOR MEMORY RECEIVING,
IF STILL NOT SOLVED TRY BRINGING THE MACHINBE TO FACTROY SET SETTING BY CLEARING THE MEMORY.
