When i went out yday and left pc running it installed the anti virus programme and will now not let me un install and when i go into control panel add and remove programmes it will not let me do this. cheers emma

Install and run an anti virus program like AVG or Avast and then install a program called CCleaner and run it. Then you will want to get an anti-spyware program like SuperAntiSpyware and run that. You may have to go in and reset your passwords for your e-mail and such, also you can install a program called AdBlocker to stop the pop-ups
Possible errors in the OS and it will be good to use the restore action so as to set the PC to an earlier set date. make sure your PC is virus free. If you have the same issues then the OS must be reinstalled, the drivers installed after a good anti-virus is also installed.
anti virus 2008 is a trojan, turn off system restore (right click my computer>properties>system restore tab; if you have one care then start your pc up in safe mode (F8 on boot up), choose safe mode and then your operating system, then click the administrator account and run the programme, then when dissinfected restart pc, turn system restore back on
