You can reinstall the sound drivers from the Acer recovery management, to do so:
Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Restore> Restore Application & Drivers> Contents> Select Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam and install it

OR

Got to http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/
Select the computer model
Select Operating System installed on your computer
Click Drivers
Select WebCam (Acer Crystal Eye) and download it.
Once downloaded, install it on your computer.

If system restore does not solved your problem, I believe the operating system is corrupted and need to reinstall fresh operating system or repair the operating system. If you computer problem are cause by the viruses, fresh install is advisable but if not, repair would do th trick.

To run a recovery on a an Acer notebook, please do the following.

- Turn notebook off.
- Turn on and repeatedly tap ALT + F10 together.

It'll now load the recovery manager.

- Select 'Restore system to factory defaults.

It'll take about 30 mins to 1 hour.

Acer uses the ALT and F10 key combination at startup to access the restore partition. You can use it from within windows as well.

Turn on your laptop...as soon as it turns you push thepower botton start pressing F8, this will take you to the system recovery screen. You will need to pick the option that says system restore. Dont pick the option that says restore to a restore point, you will need to pick the one that say destructive restore. usually u get this option by pressing the advanced options. It will give you a warning about the system being reformatted...are you sure...yada yada yada... click ok and it should reformat the system and then reinstall the original facotry software

hi leese, if you bought the laptop new it should have come with a recovery cd if not a replacement can be purchased from ebay for under $15, once you get hold of the cd just insert it and restart the laptop when asked if you want to start from cd rom press enter and follow the on screen instruction the cd should do it all for you hope this helps regards
