1) Try to calibrate the printer. Else do factory reset ( Press LINE and FEED At same time and switch on the printer. Else Change the potentiometer offset (Pitch,print) settings in the front panel.
I recommend that you use the drivers from www.seagullscientific.com, they have the best drivers and let you adjust all the printer settings. Roberto Martinez
Your platen roller (the black rubber roller) isn't smooth in that spot. Maybe it has be nicked or cut there or has something stuck onto it. If it's cut you will have to replace it, otherwise try cleaning it with high percentage isopropyl alcohol.
