Common PixLab Problems and Solutions The software will not start up. • Is the software correctly installed? See the section on “installing and uninstalling software” and ensure that the software is installed correctly. The connection is not stable. Are you running software that frequently issues interrupts at the same time? • If you are running software such as Internet browsers and E-mail programs at the same time as the PixLab TWAIN, you should quit those programs before you start up PixLab TWAIN. If your PC is connected to a LAN or a special in-house network, communication faults may arise due to forced interrupts. Are any power-saving measure settings active? • On some PC models, communications can be interrupted when the PC’s power saving (power management or “Sleep” mode) measures cut in. Refer To the Owner’s Manual for your PC and switch off any power-saving functions before you start up PixLab TWAIN. Are you running utilities such as a battery monitor at the same time? • If your PC has a resident battery monitor program, delete the monitor program before you start up PixLab TWAIN. Try using a lower connection speed. • Select “ Communication Settings” in the “Option” menu and set the connection speed in the dialog box to “9600”. If the connection is stable at that speed, gradually increase the speed until you find the fastest speed at which the connection is stable. The PC and the camcorder will not communicate at all. 1 Is the camcorder and PC correctly connected? • Check that none of the cables are disconnected and that all the components are switched. Is the correct communications port selected? • Check “Serial and COM Port Settings” to make sure that they are correct. A Communication Error dialog box appears. (1) Without changing the settings, try to reconnect by clicking on the Retry. (2) If repeated attempts to connect are unsuccessful, click on the Settings and try changing the communications settings. • Change the “Serial Port” setting to another COM port and try connecting again. If you try all the COM ports without success, the serial connection may be assigned to a COM port. • Lower the “Connection Speed” setting and try again. Begin at “9600” and work upwards from there to find the fastest speed at which the connection is stable. images can not be captured. If any of these conditions apply to the camcorder, images cannot be captured. Camera Mode • The Digital Zoom is being used. (The Digital Zoom icon [ D] is displayed on the LCD panel. • The SEPIA or MOSAIC Picture Effect is set to “ON”. • The camcorder is recording. • Edit Search is in progress. I'm wondering if you ever found the software for your security system? I have the same problem. I purchased my system secondhand, without the cd. I was able to download the dvxclient software, but it seems like there should be additional programs on that cd that I don't have. If you got the software, would you share please?

What software you used may I ask? as far as I know the software come with your CAM it freeway you can download update from the Sony web
Or tell me what did you try to do transfer photo or video into computer or burn to DVD

I can answer to your second question related to software. Most of the sony softwares are not signed by microsoft corp. So when installing those softwares it wil show the warning message. But no problem in it.U can still instal those softwares.coz i'm havin sony comcorder. even i too experience these warnings.So installing those softwares is not at all a problem provied u downloaded from sony website or any trusted websites.

Hi Vasilica,
I had the same problem and I emailed JVC, They were very helpful and had a reply within 2 hrs. Here is the email for you to read. I tried installing on a freshly formatted computer to eliminate the "conflicting software" issue another computer and it worked for me, hope this helps

Error 80004005 is an unspecified error in which any numerous problems could have caused the software to fail. Microsoft uses this error code in an attempt to let the user know a problem occured. It is not specific to Cyberlink.

Possible reasons include:

Firewall or antivirus not letting the software run as designed to.
Conflicts between other software.
Conflicts between hardware.
Virus or Spyware affecting the Cyberlink program
Changes to the registry or the deletion of .DLL's which affect how the program runs.

Try uninstalling Cyberlink and re-installing.
Try installing the software on another PC to see if the same problem occurs.
Check with the DVD burner's website to see if they have any Firmware updates (improves compatibility and stability of your burner)
