Damn, the same thing here. I had to purchase a new laptop and when I found out Win vista is having problems with PCDJ Red, I feel like down grading back to win XP. Is there a patch or fix?

How do I transfer contents of one file from another both on picasa

You highlight all the photos in one folder (cntrl + A is an easy way to do this), then click and drag that group to the desired folder icon shown on the folder views on the left.
Note: to click and drag the group, you can click and drag any single photo IN the group, the rest of the pictures will come along.
You may have to scroll the folder list on the left to find the folder you want to move the pics to.
I used the term folder for what you call 'file'. To me, file can also mean an individual item in a folder, so I just want to be clear.

I just purchased iVolume. I am using it to soundcheck my iTunes Library. I have the latest version of iTunes installed and the latest version of Mac OS X. However, the iVolume constantly crashes.

Please write an email to the iVolume support team to get sure they see your question.
If iVolume crashes (or quits) on a song, then most probably this song is corrupt or non-standards-compliant and causes the used audio decoder to crash.
To solve the problem you can either delete the corrupt song or put it into a new group in iVolume whose adjustment mode you set to "Ignore".
You can identify a problematic song by looking into the log file that iVolume writes. Before analyzing each (new) song, iVolume writes the name and path into the log file.
On a Mac please open the file ~/Library/Logs/de.ivolume.log to look at the output of iVolume.
On Windows please enter %APPDATA% (including the percent signs) into the address bar of an Explorer window and hit the Return key. Now you should see a folder named "". In that folder you can find the log file named "iVolume.log".
Please note that iVolume analyzes multiple songs in parallel if your computer has multiple processor cores. So if there are e.g. 2 cores, the problematic song can be one of the last two songs listed in the log file.

Offline media found, but not being reconnected

In the file picker window (looks like a finder window, says "reconnect" at the top) ... at the bottom of this window it says "Reconnect all files in a Relative Path"
Uncheck this box to make all files available to click on.

Hope that works for you!

I have a msg error code Quarkxpress 7

Sorry I only just saw your posst so this may be far too late, but at least for future reference: -36 is one of the oldest and most ubiquitous errors in the Mac world.

It's name is "ioErr" and the rather obtuse explanation for it is "I/O error (bummers)" ie, there was some kind of input/output error.

This should mean that XPress is trying to work with a corrupt file.

The most likely suspects, in rough order, are a text or picture file that XPress just tried to import; an auxiliary file such as a font, profile or XPress Xtension; a text or picture file already imported; the XPress document you are working with; your XPress Preferences file; XPress itself.

Working with XPress since version 2 on Apple system 6 I have never seen any guaranteed cure for a -36 error but there are three basic remedies, none of which is by any means certain.

Any corrupt file just might be revived by Copying it to another location.

If the file seems to be an XPress document and can be Opened at all, there is a better chance of reviving it by first making a new, blank XPress document containing nothing more than the one obligatory blank pagewith the same page size as the suspect had. Saving, Closing and re-Opening the blank document alongside the suspect, setting both documents to Thumbnails view then manually Dragging each page from the suspect into the blank will essentially cause XPress to look at what it's doing, rather than assuming that all the components are workable. Fairly obviously, it may be safer to Drag one page at a time Saving, Closing and re-Opening the "rescue" file between Drags.

Again if the file seems to be an XPress document and can be Opened at all, there is a better chance of reviving it by working with a Copy, deleting either half of its contents - whether whole pages or items on a single page - Saving the remainder, Closing re-Opening, testing and perhaps again deleting half the contents…

Good luck
