Sorry for the delayed response, I just found this one...

The issue with depth is usually one of 2 things:

1) Insufficient pressure (bad regulator on compressor or incorrect setting).
2) Bad seals within the gun.

When was the gun last serviced? Have you looked at the O-rings for any signs of damage? All it takes is a little leakage of pressure and the plunger won't have enough thrust to set the staple as expected.

Looking operators manual for stanley bostitch rn45b

Look here for manual and parts:http://www.bostitch.com/default.asp?TYPE=STATICLEFT&PAGE=tooldoc_results.htm&Left=left_tooldoc_results.htm&partNum=WM45B&serialNum=

The two lines of address above should be all one line in the address bar. If it does not work, go to www.bostitch.com , service parts and find wm45b. Good luck

How do I reload a Rapid S1 Supreme stapler?

Hi there,

  • Hold the gun in your right hand
  • The clip shield is spring loaded, when it released it will move toward base.
  • Near the base of the hand grip on the left side there is a metallic clip, free it with your left hand.
  • When it opens, check for obstructions, single staples, etc.
  • If it's been a busy day, add a couple drops of light oil to the moving parts.
  • Insert a clip of staples.
  • Slide the guard home, The clip will snap into place when it registers.
Then your good to go...

Best regards
Mike

Won't shoot nails

Usually this is because the "loader" is not moving the staples into the correct position. Make sure that the staples are loading correctly and that they move on the rail smoothly. Also, the spring should be pushing the staples toward the plunger. If the spring can not move freely, this will occur as well. Without seeing the actual gun, I cannot say for sure where the problem is, but the above are the first areas to look.

Do these run on gas?

this one doesn't, it requires compressed air to operate. There might be some gas fired roofing nailers out there but I would think that they would somewhat slow to operate.

How do the staples stay in place in my stanley 1/4" stapler? They slide back and forth and therefore aren't in place for the stapler to work?

There should be a pusher that is attached to a spring. If the spring broke, or the pusher is missing the staples will not stay in place.

If you can locate a model number on the tool, you go to bostitch.com to find the parts you may need

Multiple nails are ejected

its all about the pressure you apply...to solve this try pushing down then firing....i know its a pain and slows work a bit but it'll save you staples and from possibly firing THROUGH the shingle...pulling them up is enough of a pain anyway... also see if you can tighten the tip of the gun...that should make it less responsive, tighten the trigger as well...good luck

The nail is stuck inside

Hey
take any long piece of metal or wood, push it back up.If the nail is stuck in the way then you have to adjust and take off the whole magazine. You are going to release the magazine, the nail will come out from here (make sure it's not pointed at anyone!), and you can take the tool and push the pin up that far

Nail Guns Types

The real different between nail gun's models are the sort of power supply they use. A nail gun can be powered by compressed air, electricity or batteries, or electromagnetism. Some small guns are powered by butane, a fuel that causes a small explosive charge to drive the nail into the wood. The most common type of nail gun is the pneumatic nailer, which works with compressed air.
