I did this and went back 10 days.
    Sorry no change !!

There is no answer for this accept it all started when I allowed Microsoft to Automatically update my PC.

Try first doing a system restore,

    On XP do the following

    Click Start menu button.
    Click All programs
    Click Acessories
    Chose System tools
    Start System restore.
Follow wizard and restore system to a date before having the problem.

If it still gives you error you should try reinstalling Windows.

If problem persist it may be an hardware error, try replacing the memory modules.

Thankyou, will do, as I have not carried out a system restore for yonks! However, being a retired accountant .......... I'm pessimistic about getting out of this mess, without an investment in a new, all singing & dancing media computer, as my wife's Apple i-Pad (which I bought!) is receiving all Bt's live intenet sport sweet as a nut! Grrrr....!,

this can be either a problem in your operating system or else a problem in your IE 7.0

hence first try downloading mozilla firefox. install it in your system and then do your download using mozilla browser.

    let us know what happens

  • dewan nafees ahmed Aug 27, 2008

even if you have opera try it.

    download link for mozilla FIREFOX

    THANK YOU

You may have encountered the following message while browsing certain websites:

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://<website>.com. Operation aborted."

This really has nothing to do with your browser or your computer. You get this error because of faulty web coding from the webmaster's end.

IE displays this error when it is unable to open a particular element on a web page.

There are many things you can do to troubleshoot this kind of problem.

Upgrade Internet Explorer.

This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer 8. Navigate to Microsoft download Center and click on the "Download" button to upgrade to IE8 or IE9 (see Below).

http://download.cnet.com/windows-internet-explorer-8/3000-2356_4-10910662.html

IE 8

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx

IE 9

Click on "Tools" and select "Internet Options." Hit the "Advanced" tab.

Click to remove the check mark next to "Show friendly HTTP error messages" under "Browsing" sub-headings.

Click on "Apply" and hit "OK." Please note this works mostly for Internet Explorer 6, although there is no harm in trying this on older or newer versions.

Add the specific website that is producing "Operation aborted" error under "Restricted Sites."

Click on the "Security" tab under "Internet Options."

Single-click to highlight "Restricted Sites."

Hit on the "Sites" button and click on "Add."

Type the URL of the website and hit "OK."

This works for Internet Explorer 7, but again, you can try this in earlier versions.

Disable or require prompt for "Active Scripting" when you view the specific website.

Click on the "Security" tab.

Click to highlight 'Restricted Sites" zone.

Navigate down to the sub-heading "Scripting."

Click to select "Disabled" under "Active Scripting."

You may also choose "Prompt" if you want IE to issue a prompt when opening the specific web page or website.

If you are still worried about the registry or need to fix any problems with it

You can run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

Hope this helps.

After installing ie 8 having many problems, had 2 virus now they are gone but computer still giving me many errors. I can't even do a system restore to an earlier date. I had problems with Mcafee not...

IE8 from Microsoft cannot give you viruses. Did you download ie from another site?

This looks like viral activity for real.
Could be coincidence that it happeneed after installing IE 8 whether from MSoft or otherwise.

Delete the ie 8 and do a system restore to a point earlier ...

I have a runtime error on my internet browser, which is IE? Every time I try to open the homepage!

Internet Explorer 7 is the latest stable version. Try reinstalling:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

You can normally download a relatively small file, which will check to see what's out of date and upload that. If that works, go back to

E-mails stop being sent after a short time of use

hi stella,

Was there an error code when you tried to send emails? If you are using Microsoft outlook, try to repair it by going to Tools--Account settings. Under account settings, look for your user name then click on repair.

Take note of the error message.

Keep me posted.

Thanks.

Windows XP SP3 IE v7.0

When you say download do you mean any file you try to download? Have you tried using another browser such as firefox? If you do not have firefox installed I assume you cannot download it to try. If this is the case I would suggest going to a friend or family members computer & downloading it to a thumbdrive or cd then take it home & install it. If you can download from firefox. Then I would uninstall IE V 7 from add remove programs & then re install it. I'm assuming you have tried the usual things like restarting your computer

What OS are you using? Windows Vista has a patch for email problems with exchange service.

When ever i go to certain webpage a microsoft error page come some thing is wrong with flash player ie is using

So, tell us the exact webpage, write down the error and in the meantime download the latest flash player just to see if it fixes it. If you give details, maybe we can go and try to simulate it. And cure it.

Computer screwed up0 sense installing Explorer 7

Have you now got or had before a logitech mouse, keyboard or web cam attached to your system? I have constant problems with IE7, and because of the non responsive browser, it throws up a problem with my laptop touch pad.
