The uses of landscape mulch are not limited to weed control. Among the other uses of landscape mulch is as an agent to control erosion. Landscape mulch applied in the fall keeps the severe weather conditions of winter from eroding your soil and robbing it of valuable nutrients. And by insulating the frozen soil from the sun's rays on that odd mild day in the winter, you'll help your plants maintain the protective state of dormancy that they're in. As a bonus, when the landscape mulch decomposes, it will release valuable nutrients into your soil. Landscape mulch also improves moisture-retention in the soil, cutting down on your water bill in the summer.

How do I remove the shredder/mulched impeller from my Tecumseh 5hp OHH50 engine powered chipper/shredder?

tapers break easily when the taper is distorted momentarily

leave the bolt in place unscrewed about 1/8 inch

place a bearing puller under the boss and apply pressure to the head of the bolt

using to heavy hammers , place the head on one side of the boss and hit hard on the other side of the boss

this will release the taper and it will jump to the head of the bolt

remove the bolt

If there is a key in the taper as well then the problem becomes different as you may have to apply heat to the boss to distort the taper and break the rust bond on the key

Black & Decker warranties all of their products for at least 1 year, and some of their units for 2 years. Go to http://www.blackanddecker.com/Service-Centers.aspx to find your nearest authorized repair facility. Do not return it to the store you bought it from.
Good luck

Wheels keep falling off

Yes. Using a drill press if possible, drill a 1/8" hole across the axle, install a washer on the axle after the wheel and insert a cotter pin through the new hole.

Where can I BUY THE cords at.

I've never seen the ad for a weed thrasher but, as far as a replacement cord goes. You can buy a extension cord of the same size and install it. Just cut off the end. The wires within the cord need to be the same size or bigger, never smaller. Also it's important to replace a 3 wire cord with a 3 wire cord. You can use a 3 wire cord with a machine that came with a 2 wire cord, just cut off the green wire at the machine end. Your wire colors should be white, black, and green. Black and white are your power wires and green is your ground. Usually black and white are interchangeable but, on occasion switching them may make the unit run backwards so install them in their original position. Write down where they where hooked up and install your new cord in the same places.

Compost and Mulch Comparison?

Compost should be worked into the soil (eventually, at least) to make it more fertile. Mulch, by contrast, is spread atop the soil, both to protect the soil from the elements and to suppress weeds. While it is true that organic mulches will eventually decompose, thereby themselves becoming compost, their function as long as they serve as mulch is distinct from the function of compost.
