Dryer is getting hot and drying clothes, but rattles really loud in the process. It sounds like something grinding behind the drum, but i'm not sure.

Probably drum rollers or a loose blower wheel. Either one is not major and a worthwhile fix

My dyer is makes a loud, rattling sound.

did you find what caused the blower fan to break in the first place?I suspect the casing around the fan may not be clearing and something is in the fan again. or the keepers to keep it on the motor shaft are loose. The rollers for the drum and belt may be faulty. these are all of the parts that move so it has to be one or more of them.

When dryer is drying clothes it is making a loud grinding noise. Is this the belt or is the motor going bad? Maytag Centennial

the maytag has a bearing made if a cloth material that is at the front of the drum. when this wears down drum is grating off the metal drum support, hence the grinding sound. the bearing is fairly straight forward to replace.

My stackable dryer (417.94702300) makes a clunking noise. We just got it (craigslist) and it happened the 1st time we turned it on. Sounds like we're trying to dry a shoe in there - it clunks in rhythm...

Loud rattling noise, but dries ok

The drum of a dryer is supported b the front and back of the unit, spins on a felt gasket. Noise is coming from rollers or their is something stuck between drum and the felts. The pulley is a piece of springy metal with a plastic wheel on it, could also be worn. If you take off front of dryer, drum will come loose, check to see if something is stuck. Common for loose change to get jambed in felts. Also spin rollers and pulley to see if need to be replaced. I still think something is caught in felt.

Dryer started out squeeling and now is making loud sounds?

This is very likely due to bad drum support rollers which is really not a difficult repair on these dryers.

Dryer is making loud thumping noise.

Take off the back panel of the dryer and look at the motor and belt turning the drum. There may be something caught on the drum and is pinned in place causing the noise. The motor could be loose on the platform and needs to be tightened. It is probably something physical and seen causing the noise.
